Damn man. Nice progress between those pics. It seems the only place you lost size is the calves and waist. solid.
I may have lost a tiny bit in the calves, but then again it could just be that in the first pic im not flexing them/slightly off angle. Probably both actually, I just measured, and they are still over 18. I believe i was once over 19, so yea. =(

Very impressive. Keep it up champ.

That is wicked progress, especially 6 weeks.

quick correction, was 7. (my bad)

Akuma- How are your strength levels holding up?

Were those pics taken in the 80’s? Looked like Goodfellas. J/K man. Great progress and I’m glad you came through and delivered.

To be honest i feel like im getting stronger. If weights arent going Up, they are staying the same. Recently started deadlifting again a couple weeks ago. First time doing again, i barely squeeked out a couple with 405. This week i pounded out a set with 585 (And to those who would claim something like muscle memory, know that i NEVER deadlifted).

I keep bumping weights, throwing Olympic bars with plates on them on top of maxed out machines, and blasting reps.

great progress so far Akuma!!! you have definitely dropped some LB’s. A tan will do you wonders.

what is your weight right now?? still doing the march comp. ?

you should take some "relaxed photos from the back, front and both sides. that will really show your progress.

keep goin’ hoss.

Yea i know i need some sunlight. Will try to fit that in when i get some daylight freetime.

The weight is sitting just under 220, and Stu has been talking about probably pushing things back to a May competition. And i have other pics, as i update stu with several weekly, but meh i thought this 2 comparison would do the trick.

Great work Sir, on both the diet and posting pics.

How do you feel being leaner? I noticed a lot of everyday things got easier when I first got rid of a lot of bodyfat.
Nice work on the fat loss, looking much better. Keep working on that posing (as you said) while you diet down - shit’s crazy important if you wanna do well at a bb’ing show.

lol noticed you double post this part, suppose i should answer it.

How do i feel being leaner…hmm…i suppose its more mental than anything. I mean yea, some things would be easier, movement wise. But as i said, Mentally is the big change. Im not embarrassed of a belly hanging out when laying down on a bench. Im not completely disgusted at myself when i look in the mirror. I dont reach and pull my shirt down when performing Pullovers.
I dont see the extreme need to hide myself as much.

I take that once mental diversion and place into my lifting, focusing more on the weights and not so much my faults. Fixing up form, concentrating on contractions. If nothing else, losing the weight has enabled me to grow- not only in muscle, not only as a bodybuilder, but as a person.

Sounds great Akuma! Can’t wait to see some videos and more pictures! Keep up the hard work.

Looking good man. Glad you updated.

What does your diet look like now? Are you carb cycling?

Yes still carb cycling. Diet is basically entirely composed of Eggs, Chicken, fish, Oatmeal, Almonds, and cottage cheese. Very boring lol

Great progress, and it seems that you are maintaining great strength levels. Have you seen any dropoff in strength at 215-220 as opposed to at your previous weight?

Akuma or anyone really, just curious: are high glycemic carbs needed post workout when dieting inorder to keep muscle or do you just stick with low glycemic? I ask this because the only major carb source in your diet right now is oatmeal. unless ofcourse you take supplementary carbs with your workout.

No i dont carb up post workout period. Spiking insulin would be counter productive to the method im using.

And i did actually fail to mention that i am taking the Anaconda Protocol + Surge as during workout nutrition. So on my med carb days, im taking in about 175carbs total, 30of which come in the morning in the form of oatmeal, and 115 come in the form of Surge/Finibar. So im still getting my carbs, but they are practically ALL during w/o carbs.

I know the proponents of only pre/during workout carbs only will disagree, but I have been dieting now for three weeks and have been using about 35 grams of postworkout carbs mixed with other goodies, along with my peri-workout nutrition, and experiencing great results. In the workout window (30 min pre to 5-10 min post) I take in between 80-100 grams of carbs, and I have found that my muscle retention/maintenance of strength has been good.

I think you try out things and find what works best for you.

Finally!

Good Job Man
