I;m pretty sure Akuma said he wasn’t going to take “regular” pics at the moment due to things like body hair/tan etc… too tired to go through the thread and get a quote.

Common sense, but: if you don’t like the thread, don’t read it.
I agree with you, but wouldn’t we be shortchanging Akuma if we didn’t suggest ways to better measure his progress? I believe the quote you were looking for went something along the lines of “I’m not too eager to show my progress,” followed by “it’s like showing off an unfinished work of art, so many things can go wrong…”
To me, these are spoken by someone who may be downgrading the progress he has actually made, meaning that showing off his improvements, which are obviously great (down to 230’s from 260), would be awesome for us viewers to see.

Just a thought man : ).
So diplomatic <3

I agree with you ebomb. I should’ve quoted to make it more clear but my post was directed towards Homer aka DOHCrazy

I’m not one to chime in about one’s personal decisions, but I agree, you should post progress pics. For a number of reasons…

 1. To give yourself an objective view of your progress, through the eyes of others. I realize you’re working with someone who is doing this with you, but on competition night, there will be more than one pair of eyes on you

 2. Hold yourself accountable. I think this is your first time leaning down to this level. Believe me, it gets very rough at times. I know you’re aware of this, and seem to have excellent discipline, but it never hurts to be reminded. If you “put yourself out there” publicly, especially on this site, you’ll have a ton of support when you’re contemplating suicide by Krispy Kreme’s

 3. Pictures are the best assessment tool, in my opinion, especially in BB. Scales, tape measures, skin calipers and even the mirror are all solid ways to measure progress, but pictures have zero margin of error and always tell the truth

 4. Get used to being judged on your looks…this is what competition is largely about, and the more comfortable you are with receiving feedback from others based purely on your aesthetics, the more comfortable and confident you’ll be on stage. Confidence in king (body language), especially when it comes to posing.

Just my two cents big guy.

You’re kicking ass thus far, and this is just another step you should take to ensure that progress continues.

Best of luck. You’re going to look great come the big day. Plus, this experience will teach you so much about your body, that you’ll get better and better each time you set your sights on another bb goal.

BTW…who gives a shit what most people say about your pics anyway. There’s a reason that 99% of people have never and will never get really, really lean at any point in time. It’s brutally hard and they’re scared of what others will say. Most guys will give the excuse “I don’t wanna be that lean” or “I love being big”…maybe, but it’s more than likely because they know they can’t endure the pain to get there

lol akuma

lots of activity in this thread today… not quite what I was expecting once I actually read the posts lol

Don’t be like that big man. But posting pics would help you guage progress - even if you do get grief from smaller people calling you fat.

So, are we going to get actual pictures or are you going to keep posting worthless camera phone pictures with your shirt on?

I’m being serious, if there was any seriousness lost in my typing this. I still haven’t been able to grasp why so many people are in love with you when none of us have seen you.
Just curious why you’re upset of someone’s charismatic following and would feel better by calling them out.

?

Wow - what a dick post. “I still haven’t been able to grasp why so many people find it necessary” to try and bring people down. Are you scared of him succeeding?

Akuma - people want pics for their own titillation and its awful they put pressure on you in terms of negative comments. Why the hell do they think they have a right to pics at the beginning of a diet? Its totally your call.

Your passion is great, don’t let the dicks get your down. Do it your way.

How the hell does asking for a progress pic translate to him trying to bring Akuma down?

It makes sense that someone’s doing a body transformation, that there will be progress pics. I’m preparing for a figure competition, so it makes sense that I’ll post progress pics. And not pics of my ankle.
I haven’t seen a transformation that hasn’t included progress pics. Seriously, I mean, how will that translate into a transformation? People are just supposed to take your word for it?

Questions arise such as; “Did he really change?” “How much did he change, there’s nothing to compare his present condition to?” “How do I know that I should read and pay attention to his BB threads? I haven’t seen the progress of him practicing what he preaches.”

As cool as Akuma is, I’m not gonna come here and suck his dick like I’ve seen, jumping in to save the damsel in distress.

And Akuma, seriously, if you can’t stand a couple haters, you need a new hobby.

I agree. I think Akuma is a pretty good guy and have no qualms with him whatsoever. However the dudes on the previous page being real (admittedly a little assertive,) are really serious about the lifestyle, and look the part. Trust me on that. Thing is those guys aren’t even hating. This is a bodybuilding forum, it’s called a superficial sport for a reason… it’s all about how you look, ultimately.

I don’t necessarily love putting pictures of myself up on the internet, but I do it to keep myself accountable and to make my progress known for the public. That’s why I do this after all.

Plus, if you really plan on doing something serious with bodybuilding you had better get use to haters right off the bat. Brandon Curry use to post on T-Nation, and apparently got hated out of here. Nonetheless, he’s doing well for himself.

I think what the guys on the previous page are trying to say is that you’re still the only person who knows any kind of degree of how much progress you’ve made. We don’t. At all. You’ve given us 5-6 clothed pictures total, I think. So while it’s good that you know how well you’re doing and all that, how can you really expect honest feedback besides the 3 inches closest to your elbow on your upper arm are looking somewhat leaner. I mean really!

If you’re going to do it that style, like bare minmum, you should have some kind of spaghetti-string shirt on or something.

Anyway, do what you have to do man, but I’m just giving you objective feedback. Akuma01 is niether + nor - in my book.

Nikki… Go ahead and just PM me your progress pics for a completely unbiased review… Nudes preferably. Kthanx

Eh - Malaka!

I love me a good drama shtick - seems the forums need a lot of that, recently, oxi?

I agree with the general sentiment.
DOHCrazy has a point, albeit he comes across as being a bit irked about the ‘money for nothing’ thing.
Nikki and SSC have clarified matters more for the cuddly person that Akuma is.

Food for thought: maybe exposing oneself in such a manner might be a bit harder, though, when you’re also showing your face.

Ok i believe the general consensus here is that i waddle around in an Eskimo suit and dont allow my skin to feel the light of day. First of all, Fuck half of you. I have absolutely no idea why you feel the need to post in threads in which you care nothing about.

Secondly, I have an ex olympia competitor i chat with, a man with pro cards that i on occasion work out with, and one of this sites most beloved, also certified via a pro card, members who is coaching me through a diet. He has just started getting pic updates. What makes ANY of you think i need YOUR validation? I have said it before, i am very self conscious about my body, and am far from completion. Stu is the only one who is getting pictures, and that will not change until i am at the point where i can throw off my shirt for anyone.

Those of you who questioned my drive, attacked my personality, or belittled my progress can Just go ahead and nont post on this thread anymore. Jesus, its fucking pathetic how some of you seem to get off on being complete and utter douche bags.

The only raisin those comments were made is because you ARE posting pics. But youre posting pics fully clothed talking about various parts of your body. Its ridiculous. No one can see your biceps peak in that picture because you have a damn shirt sleeve covering more than half of your upper arm. The fact that youre doing some sort of posing exacerbates the reactions youre getting. Its just confusing.

And that diatribe about your team of elite coaches/advisers is real cute. If you dont want the opinion of people in a particular setting, dont avail yourself to their criticism by posting a 6 month long thread or whatever. What did you think was going to happen? 1000 out of 1000 "great job bro, youre the best ever"s ??

So a pic is absolutely no good unless im shirtless? Comparing a shirted pic to a shirted pic is impossible? And the point about listing the people is that no i dont want the opinion of every random poster on this site, because i dont need it. This isnt RMP. I didnt create this thread, nor was it created FOR that purpose. I have someone already telling me that No, i have too much fat, im weak here, i need to grow here. WHY would i want to hear that from a dozen more people?

Its not like im saying Look at my serratus. Yea wed have a problem if i was trying to compare that in a shirted pic. But come on.

How can one not see the difference between these?
