Sounds like most gyms I’ve been to. Cool gyms I’ve been to play staff member’s ipod playlists. Good stuff!

I just want to laugh, because we don’t have those rules, and there aren’t any fucking douchebags that put the dumbbells back out of order. God that shit drives me nuts.
Lol when i go to the gym tomorrow, ill write em all down for you. And we always have Dbags that put Dbs out of order, laying around, Plates left on bars, etc.
Bam CB, just for you-
Rules:
- Return Weights to racks after use.
- Olympic weights should never be leaned against walls.
- Do not drop weights.
- Weight collars must be used at all times.
- Shirts and closed toe shoes are required on workout floor.
- Make sure all seats are secured and pins in place.
- gym bags and purses prohibited on workout floor.
- Pitch in- Dont liter.
- Check cables; if damaged, report it to the front.
- Carry a towel
And those are my gyms rules. Yep…Total fail. You should hear the music they play in there too, bunch of shit like Pink or Doodoo Gaga…ive heard Hanson in there, and ive also heard berry White. Closest thing ive ever heard to good workout music was 1 Metallica song, almost a year ago. Thats it…
Yeah, not that those rules are ‘too harsh’ as a lot of it is just common sense shit.
I guess my gym just assumes a certain level of intelligence of it’s membership?
Funny though man, thanks.

Common sense is becoming more and more of an ‘exotic spice’ type of thing though. I was squatting one day, and i look over, and theres this small kid benching. I see that he has no clamps on the bar, and i notice his form is wobbly so the plates are slowly sliding (Ofc he doesnt notice because he doesnt check them). There were some extra clamps on my squat rack, so i grab em and motion to the guy to have them. He waves them off, because obviously hes smart, and continues his own thing.
I shrug and go about my work. the VERY next set, i see that one side of the plates is dramatically further to one side. I cross my arms, lean back and watch as this boy unracks the weight, and sloppily pushes it around. Well a few reps in, i see one of the plates start to slide, and being who i am, i simply sit there and watch. Why? No im not a dick, but you have to let stupidity take its course if you want someone as ignorant as this to learn something.
Sure enough the plate falls off one side, then you see him wobble as the weight topples off the other side. he reracks the bar, and sits up, obviously embarassed. The first thing he sees is me, leaning against my rack, holding the clamps.
I mean, how can someone let this happen? You arent using clamps? Ok thats dumb. You arent checking the weight after every set? Ok thats retarded. Its just like the people you see in the gym doing shit that YOU KNOW they’re going to hurt themselves with. Terrible form and shitty technique. Why? Because they read about this exercise in a Men’s Fitness, and ran with it from there. But who am i to walk up and say they’re doing it wrong. I dont want to become a condescending, ‘im bigger than you so listen to me’ Dickhead. Sometimes you have to let nature take its course. Natural selection FTW.
I asked the front desk to WD40 the bars so the ends would spin better. We only have two that actually do, so I’m trying to keep it that way.
Fuckers lubed up the bar but not the ‘spinny’ part. (I haven’t a clue wtf the parts of the bar are called.)
So now the plates slide on and off like fucking magic, I mean you could fart on these things and 90lbs is going to go flying off the end of the bar.
I didn’t even know how to begin to explain the misunderstanding. I was pretty excited they listened to me in the first place though…
For the most part those rules seem very reasonable and if it were my gym I would expect the same common courtesy. 7 and 10 are dumb though.

Cuz most of those MOOrons dont know wtf chalk is.
Does the gym provide towels? If so, that’s totally reasonable. I always carry around one of those hand towels because it’s provided.

it does not. It offers to sell you towels for 3$ if youve forgotten yours.
Ive never brought in/bought a towel. They can suck my balls. Im sorry but if you’re afraid of a little sweat, then you are in the wrong place. Its not like towels absorb moisture and then it evaporates immediately.
If one of those ‘I sweat half a kiddy pool’ people are around, and leave without touching anything, yea thats not cool. but its not like it doesnt take a whopping 10secs to grab a paper towel from the dispensers they have around the gym and wipe a bench with some cleanser.
The funny thing is that most people that carry towels religiously dont sweat to make it necessary.
Akuma,
Updates? Hows the Recomp?
Sitting at about 237 in the morning the last time i checked. Feels like muscles are getting fuller though. Started taking a new Pre workout (Superpump Max) and im really liking it. It seems like my muscle targeting is starting to pay off aswell, my delts have gotten a lot wider, my traps actually pop out now, Triceps lateral head is visible and looking 2x thicker, and my hams hang down nicely.
I did have a bit of falling out, since last week it was one of my buddys bachelors party. So it was essentially a weekend of shitty eating. Ive gotten back on track and set the fat loss back into motion. Im foreseeing in a couple more weeks things will be looking a lot better too.
x2 on the SPMax, I’m upto 2 scoops and it feels great. More updates!

Caliper style? No, i think calipers are absolutely retarded.
I did get my bodyfat tested electronically via the hand bodyfat testing (where you hold your arms up in front of you with a little device in your grip) a couple years ago. It was when i was 215lbs and i thought i would be about 20%, but the device read 15% (the machines are accurate ±3%).
I think Calipers are kinda hit or miss depending on the individual and how their body likes to store its adipose. I got calipered back in college, and I remember thinking how my triceps (actually the back of the arms) never tend to get soft, but yet other pinch points do (the figure came out a lot lower than I would have expected… I think it was pretty inaccurate).
Back when I was actually talking Sports Med classes in school they told us that the only truly accurate assessment of bodyfat was hydrostatic weighing. As far as those handheld electronic testers go, I bought an “athlete” model last year. and a week out from my May 2010 contest it told me I was 19% fat -lol. So I wouldn’t put ANY faith in those. I’ll stick with photos ![]()

The handheld models are junk. I remember when Kingbeef started posting a while back, they were telling him he was 18% when he was sporting a 6 pack. I had the omron one and that was a piece of shit too. I’d trust a caliper test from someone qualified who over the handheld anyday.

Maybe it was OVERestimating your BF% Akuma? Ever think about that?
maybe you’re secretly already ripped and don’t even know it yet
