It’s not 315, but does it still qualify? I am always proud to pimp this lift. I used to love to ohp, but have gotten away from it a bit to focus on my bench. Interestingly, my bench brings up my ohp, not so much the other way around.
Just awesome…must have been a great feeling getting that up!

The resurrection of the 2 plate OHP thread today inspired me to make this thread.
I don’t know how many people on here will want to be part of it, but I think the OHP is one of the most bad ass exercises you can do (I think I like it more than bench!)…so for that reason, and for those of us who have already eclipsed the 2 plate mark, let’s race to 3!
I hit a 265 back in April, which was bodyweight at the time after dieting for about 14 weeks. Putting on some size now and will not be focusing on 1 RM for a while, but should be able to get a lot stronger over the next few months and hope to hit it by the end of the year.
Wow. I did not see this thread until I posted in the 405 one. At least I have a chance in this thread. I should be at about 265 now, but probably will not be at 315 comfortably for at least another 10 months. Then I can start the process of trying to catch up to the ridiculous weights being tossed up by Dizenzo and Meat.
holy crap. I may have to find a way to do something much smaller in my home gym–just run a rope over my power rack or the rafter in my shed maybe. What’d you use to thold the plates?

it all came as a set. it would be easy to make though…just get a metal pipe, weld a plate on the bottom to hold the plates and weld a hook or ring on the top.
I haven’t been training OHP in the past couple weeks because my back is fucked up…really sucks. I am doing accessory type stuff though, but no direct pressing. Gotta keep from falling behind!
My training is focused on conditioning and fat loss right now. Thus far I haven’t lost any OHP strength, but I won’t be focused on increasing strength again until September.
I hit 255 for a fairly easy 3 last week. I am doing an OHP competition on another website, and the heavyweights are 245 and up so I have a decided advantage, weight wise. You have to submit by the end of March, so I’m gonna go for 300 then. Should be right at 285 or so right now, based on projected max.
Been struggling with a lot of my lifts lately since my back is still jacked up, so I’ve fallen a bit behind my goal timeline, but 315 should be doable this year I’m hoping if things keep going decently.
I’m currently still lagging at just under 200, although i’ve been making quick improvement (labral tear-bankart lesion set me back bit). The rehab is going good so should be back to full strength in no time.
Havent been concentrating on it as much as I would have liked. Hit 245 about 6 weeks ago. Been doing OH press after benching so strength was sapped somewhat. Hit 225 for a relatively easy 4, and 230 for three this week
My 531 week is this week and I will be OHP’ing on Friday probably. I will probably go for 275 since the 255x3 was fairly easy in my 3’s week. Then a couple weeks later 285-290, finally 300 the last week of March.

oh boy oh boy oh boy
not sure if this is as strict as allowed on this thread, but here is a pre surgery 110kgx3 with some leg drive,

since surgery in late November, i have slowly been regaining my pressing strength, but i have been using the Swiss bar exclusively . i hit an easy 95kgx3 just last week, with no leg drive.
as i continue to heal, i really don’t see a problem with me getting to near 300lbs with this bar in the future.
question, will my lift count in this thread if done with a Swiss bar?
