Went to my first competition saturday and placed 1st in novice light weight, 1st overall novice, and 2nd in men’s open short for the SNBF. Big shout out to T-Nation. thanks guys
Good work, man.
But I have heard that Asians can’t get huge so clearly this is photoshopped.
Alright! Hell of a showing for a first contest!
Have ya caught the ‘bug’?
S
LOL yea i heard that too prof x so i photoshopped my head on there lol… and yea i caught the bug…
i stayed after and talked to the judges they said my legs were phenomenal but upper body was lacking symmetry so that will be the next step for me and my prep coach…
honestly i was thinking a 2nd and 3rd placing and probably another 3rd placing… when i won 1st in novice lightweight and overall i was estatic… and then finished 2nd in men’s open i was shocked, psyched, happy, nervous everything rolled into one… it really does feel awesome after you put in all those hours and esp the dieting lol …
i just wanted to say thanks you guys really help motivate me and give me perspective when training…
That’s awesome man! You looked great - congratulations. : )
Huge friggin legs, good job.
Question: Second picture, that guy’s traps. What in the actual fuck am I looking at?
i think he bends over much further and his shoulder blades poke out thus creating the illusion of traps that come to a direct point?
my gf said the same thing LOL
lol your welcome Vin… grats!
Whoa, Vinnie! You look great!
Congrats!

That’s exactly what it is. When my brother and I were kids (we wanted to be like the “shiny guys”), we used to flex our skinny bodies in the mirror and did that exact thing with our “traps”.
lol
Thanks ID!!
Great job!
And for your first show no less, awesome!
What are you plans now?
thinking bout a show in oct/nov i need some time to bring up the mass on my upper body… i won’t be able to compete in novice anymore so imma have to turn it up in order to hang with the competition in men’s open class…
damn your legs are huge, great job, you were committed and you did your homework and it shows.
what do you squat and deadlift?
i dont’ squat over 185 and deadlift like 285…
i stopped squatting heavy cuz of migraines… anything over 315 and i risk getting an exertion headache…

I’d appreciate any tips on back and shoulder/trap mass gaining… so far i’ve moved down to 4 sets with 8-10 reps… and i’ve started following mountain dog back training…
my legs used to be split in two workouts per week quads one day and hammies/calves the next…
quads: squats, hack squats, leg extensions, leg press
hammies: stiff legged deads, leg curls, standing calf raises, walking lunges, seated calf raises
