Your the one still that justifies using your phone when driving… please just STFU and go drink some liquid Drano. You idiots NEVER f–king learn because your too god damn stupid and self-absorbed to realize that A) their are other people on the road and B) you are not the center of the universe.

you sir are an internet badass, I’m sorry I’ve texted in the past. I will stop immediately HA!
don’t be a dumbass. Texting while driving is egocentric at best, murder at worse.

I saw the news report on the engineer texting and the unfortunate accident as a result.

I’m wondering what the legal ramifications will be for that engineer’s poor decision. . .

jehovasfitness, I’m not one to hold it against you that you’ve texted while driving in the past. It wasn’t the smartest thing to do, but you can’t change the past.

However, you should give it some thought next time your phone buzzes and you’re in the driver’s seat.

I don’t understand what’s going on in your head if you can still justify texting while driving after reading this thread and hearing about 15 dead and 100 injured as a result of a comparable situation.

I won’t lie. Driving down from NJ this weekend this thread came to mind and I don’t think I texted at all.

I just find it amusing that some of you act so high and mighty when I can fucking guarantee you’ve done something and probably still do something that distracts you to a degree.

So, I don’t really see what we’re arguing here. You call seem to think that texting is insane while driving, but like said who here as a guy has gotten road head? Or who here drives while eating? drinking a non-alcoholic beverage? Or maybe has had 1-2 beers and drove somewhere. I could go on and on, but alas texting is the devil and everything else is ok.

Maybe kids shouldn’t be allowed in a car. Lord knows I’ve driven in some cars where kids even teenagers have been the most distracting thing I’ve ever experienced.

You just reminded me of a time my sister and I were driving to my parents. My 2 year old nephew was in the back seat drinking out of a bottle. When he was done, he decided to throw the empty bottle as hard as he could into the front seat. Bounced around a few times before I caught it. Scared the crap out of both of us.

I really do hope you learn your lesson by getting hit head on and well suffering in hell for all eternity for your blatant stupdity… obviously God skipped you in the brain department because if you had one, you would have the mental capacity to realize just how stupid you really are but alas… your a fucking idiot.

Did you really just bump a 5 month old thread to call someone an idiot? Let it go…

Also, ‘your’ an idiot? ‘Stupdity’? I don’t think you can call anyone stupid, when you can’t even spell it right or use proper grammar.

You’re more impaired while on the phone than being very drunk, and texting is even worse. You get caught you should get a DUI. Driving under impairement.

Texting while driving is against the law. At least in CA anyway.

Almost got hit on the freeway today because some guy was texting and decided to switch lanes without looking

ill admit, I was in a car with a girl who was driving…and constantly texting at the same time. I stared at her for a minute and she said…“ya i know” then I kept my eyes on the road (someone has to!) I kept thinking that Im not gona be on the news tomorrow.

i only have a problem with txt msgs that are reallyfunny

because sometimes i cant control my emotional reactions and i bust out laughing and start to go all over the road

or the sweet ones fom my girl

example

" i cant beleive i never noticed my before, until i noticed you <33333"

This thread is a perfect example of just how stupid the general population really is (How the fuck can you even rationalize putting your petty phone call above the safety and wellbeing of everyone else on the road? Seriously, some of you are complete and utter fucktards to the highest degree.
QFT!

I didn’t even bother reading the other 3 pages as this is true.
Just because you’ve gone this long sending text messages (which make me feel just a little bit more of a sissy every time I do it) while driving doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.

Well, if my “friend” asks where should she be for me to pick her up, then FU, I’m answering the damn text message

Do people know they can respond to a text by calling? Just because you texted me doesn’t mean I have to text you. That’s not as dangerous as texting.

someone texts you asking what time you’ll be somewhere and instead of typing “7” you’re going to make a call?

What the hell did some of you people do BEFORE cell phones were invented?

It’s almost like you’re going “OMG! I can’t miss a single call or my pathetic life will fall apart!”

lol

Very true.

Half the time ( or more than half) people call nad it’s like “Where are you? Oh…almost there? OK…see you in 10 minutes”

Guess what …even if you didn’t call…you would see your buddy in 10 minutes. Same thing.

time to throw this out there, sneezing should be illegal while driving. think about it, when you sneeze you close your eyes for an undetermined time.

Like…two seconds at most?

While hardly scientific they did do an episode of Mythbusters a few years ago where Adam and the hot chick did a road test while talking to each other on cell phones, then they got drunk and did the road test again. They passed it drunk if I remember correctly, and failed talking on the cell phones.

The thing I can’t figure out is it’s not any different than talking to the person in the passenger seat, yet I know I don’t pay the attention I should when I’m on the phone, which is why I just ignore it or pull over.
It is different on the phone you are putting yourself in a different place. When you are talking to someone you are both there. Kind of like daydreaming a conversation while driving verse haveing one. Your focus just isn;t “there”.

Also Jehovas fitness I think everyone is takeing this too personally. It doesn’t matter if anyone of these people has made any mistakes and you are right these mistakes are likely not very different from texting while driving. Everyone has made mistakes while driving it doesn’t make them a terrible person or deserving to get in a accident like people are makeing you out to be. No one who is texting while driving beleives that they are going to get hurt or going to hurt anyone.(same with any other thing that takes away attention from a road).

So do not think about the debate on this thread or any of the people you are arguing with or any of the insults. Just think about how much are you really gaining from texting while driving and that maybe 99 times it’ll be fine but it only takes one time for YOU and/or anoth PERSON to die. You would not be stop ping texting while driving for the people in this thread who you may not like, you would be stopping it for YOU and someone who has nothing to do with this thread has never insulted you been a hypocrite around you or done anything else that people in this thread has ever done to you or anywhere else regarding your driving mistakes.

I cannot believe this has not been posted yet…

Totally disregaurd for himself and others.
