I think you texters are missing the problem:
I’m sure you can drive and text at the same time. You obviously do.
The problem is when something SUDDEN and UNEXPECTED happens on the road. Usually involving some other idiot - sometimes not.
THAT is when texting or any other distraction becomes a major problem.
you ever gotten road head? thought so, case closed
That is some weird logic…
So, it’s ok to partake in an activity that takes your attention away from driving beacuase sometimes people lose focus on driving?
I’m sorry, I’m not following your question.
My logic was that for someone to say text messaging is wrong because it distracts you, when they themselves partake in activities that have distracted them (of course I’m assuming with the road head example, but it’s a safe assumption).
that being said, I don’t feel text messaging really distracts me to the the extent that some think. When you primarily text all day you become pretty efficient at it. Not saying that just because I can text easily that makes it ok, I’m just saying that it’s not so hard on some phones to do so with skill.
and I’m not carrying on long conversations, it’s usually 1-3 words I would say
Cute argument. Either I can say I’ve gotten road head which means I’m a hypocrite or say I haven’t which could cause me to lose face.
BTW, just for fun, in your last post above, go through it and replace “text” with “drink”.
I’ll do it right now for you (for fun):
“that being said, I don’t feel drinking really distracts me to the the extent that some think. When you primarily drink all day you become pretty efficient at it. Not saying that just because I can drink easily that makes it ok, I’m just saying that it’s not so hard with some alcohol to do so with skill.
and I’m not drinking A LOT, it’s usually just a little I would say”
heh[/quote]
so you’re saying you never drove after having 1 beer?
