I think you texters are missing the problem:

I’m sure you can drive and text at the same time. You obviously do.

The problem is when something SUDDEN and UNEXPECTED happens on the road. Usually involving some other idiot - sometimes not.

THAT is when texting or any other distraction becomes a major problem.

you ever gotten road head? thought so, case closed :D
That is some weird logic…

So, it’s ok to partake in an activity that takes your attention away from driving beacuase sometimes people lose focus on driving?

I’m sorry, I’m not following your question.

My logic was that for someone to say text messaging is wrong because it distracts you, when they themselves partake in activities that have distracted them (of course I’m assuming with the road head example, but it’s a safe assumption).

that being said, I don’t feel text messaging really distracts me to the the extent that some think. When you primarily text all day you become pretty efficient at it. Not saying that just because I can text easily that makes it ok, I’m just saying that it’s not so hard on some phones to do so with skill.
and I’m not carrying on long conversations, it’s usually 1-3 words I would say

Cute argument. Either I can say I’ve gotten road head which means I’m a hypocrite or say I haven’t which could cause me to lose face.

BTW, just for fun, in your last post above, go through it and replace “text” with “drink”.

I’ll do it right now for you (for fun):

“that being said, I don’t feel drinking really distracts me to the the extent that some think. When you primarily drink all day you become pretty efficient at it. Not saying that just because I can drink easily that makes it ok, I’m just saying that it’s not so hard with some alcohol to do so with skill.
and I’m not drinking A LOT, it’s usually just a little I would say”

heh

ok, well you got me there.
But your honesty there tells me that you broke the “road head” part, so you’re still a hypocrite

That’s one of two possibilities.

Either way, does it really matter? If a murderer said a certain activity was stupid, would he be wrong simply because of his behavior? (Although he certainly wouldn’t make the best spokesperson)

I notice you didn’t even address the point I made in my first post.

sorry what was it?

OMG, are we still flogging this dead horse? JF, you are relentless.

Sad, your still making excuses for your pathetic behavior… Like I said before… the only good texter while driving is a dead one:)

If you cant comprehend that fact that your driving literally a potential lethal weapon and still have to stand around justifying these bitch ass excuses for your own behavior… then all I got to say to you is go eat shit and die.

I have to admit i am guilty of this. I am working on trying not too.

Its irresponsible and dangerous…:(
Me too.

I was driving home from work recently, at 11pm, and I looked down to read an email.

Next thing I hear is the locking up of brakes, and I look up to see the car in front of me, T-bone a car that was coming out of a side street. I swerved out of the way just in time, missing the rear of one of the cars. I pulled over on to another street, and saw both card were totaled, and one of them was on fire.

Both drivers were alive, but really shaken up. Someone called 911, and it took me a few minutes to get my shit together, then I left, and took my time getting home.

That was a reality check.

I’m going to reiterate something:

I’ve already gotten into an accident because of you dipshits on your phones while driving. It makes me want to make some people have missing teeth everytime I see it.

Fuckers like you ruined my car, and I got a shittier one as a replacement because insuranse didn’t value the car very highly.

Thanks assholes. Rot in hell.

a jerk backed into my car today (glad he left a note), imagine that, accidents happen for a variety of reasons :0

would my car of been totalled if she hadn’t been talking on a phone?

no.

bump

Had to bring this back from the dead.
If there was ever a reason not to text while driving.

The train wreck caused in Chatsworth, California last Friday is being blamed on the engineer that was texting someone, and failing to inform one of the trains that the other was coming in its direction. Legal procedures to obtain the phone records of this engineer have begun already to confirm this. The result? 15 confirmed dead, with over 100 injured.

Nowadays replying to a text message while driving is called natural selection.

I predict that the future holds for us a new kind of manslaughter.

“hey how long til u r here”
“i’ll be there in ()UR)(@#HIDF@#(DFJ@)#DF)@#FH@#F@#(CARCRASH)”
*Officials find phone with incomplete text message 150 yards from accident site.

Person 1 gets convicted of manslaughter.

The end.
I guess these days it really is the ME-ME-ME generation and why personally I think most people can suck a huge monkey dick.
