Testosterone Levels Still Low

Doc started me out on 5mg of androgel about two months ago. Nurse called me back today and said that my numbers were still low, and for me to use 10 mg aday, come back in 2 months and re-test. she also said shots were and option. I forgot to ask her what my numbers were. what is your thought on this? I will be 45 in Aug. Never thought I would need to take so much shit just to feel normal.

How do you feel now? Did the 5 grams help a bit for a while, and then when your endogenous production shutdown you felt worse again? Give the 10 grams a try and you should know within a few days if it’s doing the trick for you by how you feel.

Most men (not me!) seem to be able to at least get into the mid-range of normal T-levels using 10 grams of Androgel or Testim. Most men also seem to prefer the testosterone cypionate injections overall, not only because you feel better with the higher T-level but also because it’s simply more convenient to do a 5 minute weekly injection than mess (pun intended) around with the gels every day.

It does seem a bit of a downer to struggle with this problem, but once you get your HRT regimen dialed in to where your level is high-normal, you’re going to be very happy with the results.

Hang in there and keep us posted!

I feel great now, and felt great then. The problem was you might say was in the bedroom. The first week I started Androgel was unreal, I felt so good, and had sex every night, and it went down hill from there. I’m glad I am using Androgel, but I hate to think that I will need a shot for the rest of my life.
