Bill, Brock, Cy or someone else that can help. I have noticed that in the past two years I’ve had a decrease in strength, muscle mass and desire for sex (at times). So I recently had my testosterone levels checked. It came back that my overall t-level was 602. But they didn’t give me all the other results (bioavailable, etc).
It seems to me like my levels are well within the normal range. But I just don’t know how to explain for these “feelings” that I’m getting weaker, smaller and not as interested in sex all the time. Sure, I’ve had some very stressful things going on recently (relationship, work, etc), but overall that wasn’t a problem all the time. And it doesn’t explain for these things happening in the past year or two!
I’m 25, 5’4", currently 140lbs at about 12% bodyfat. I’m the type of guy that people would think has a lot of testosterone because I’m pretty hairy, I have a very deep voice, and unfortunately, I’ll be bald in the future (damn genetics!).
I do have an ectomorphic body shape and have trained consistently for the past six years. Of course, I’ve learned that I’ve made many mistakes over the last few years. Luckily, with T-mag and articles from Poliquin, King, Staley and a few others, I’ve learned a lot in the past year (along with the number of books I’ve recently read).
I’ve also noticed that there are times when I have increased strength and size and times when I’ve gotten leaner and lost some strength. But my gains don’t stay consistent. And even though I’m on a strength phase with my training, my strength levels are lower than two years ago.
So I was wondering if you guys had any advice or suggestions.
I do eat well. By that I mean that I eat 4-5 times a day and stay away from sugars and processed foods. I stick to the basics. Meat, dairy, fruits and vegetables, occassionally pasta, rice, bread, oatmeal and other grains. I don’t drink soda or alcohol. I don’t smoke or use drugs. I drink water throughout the day. I sleep well (7-9 hours a night), and I train 3-4 days a week. I just finished one of Ian’s programs. I’ll take a week off and then I’ll begin Poliquin’s 1-6 program, so I’ll be doing his type of split.
So what the hell is up with me? Do I need to try out some Tribex? Would that help?
The only supplements I use are: a multivitamin, Vitamin C, Echinachea, ZMA and Grow.
Thanks for your help!
