Ten Immediate Benefits of HCR Bill

As demonstrated by passing of the Health Care Affordability Act, some of us do the right thing.

You can’t have been following politics very long. 90% of todays democrats would continue to proudly identify themselves as such and vote a straight democrat ticket if they made the hammer and sickle their official party symbol and ran Hugo Chavez as their candidate. [/quote]

People can only play stupid for so long

Money saving tip: don’t start so many wars.

The same could be said about Republicans or conservatives too. If Richard Nixon were to rise from the dead and run for President in '12, many conservatives would probably vote for him just like the Dems and Hugo. In fact, I made a T-shirt that I plan on wearing everyday during the '12 election season. It has a picture of Nixon giving the thumbs up sign during a press conference with the words “Tan, Rested and Ready: Nixon in '12”. It’s gonna be a hit.

They’re not playing, but stupidity is the wrong way to characterize their malady.

They are playing stupid, I understand their way of thinking. They think that America has an infinite amount of money, and ever worse that it is everyone’s money. They separate politics from their daily lives.

This is simply playing dumb, if anyone took a look at what they are doing they would recognize instantly that they are in the wrong. People my age are not as stupid or as liberal as people make them out to be. People my age are starting to pull their head out of their ass and unlike the pussies of the last 2 generations we don’t give up when things get bad.

I don’t think you or for the matter most people truely understand the type of economy we are about to get. It is going to be Wiemar all over again. Atlas is about to shrug, the American people have rejected big government and when this inflation finally moves out of the food and into other area’s trust me most will abandon big government.

I see the kind of people that support this nonsense, they are the kind of people that don’t look both ways before crossing the street. They can parrot what there teacher says so they think they are smart when really they are some of the dumbest people alive.

Like I said you can only play stupid for so long, if people stay stupid much longer they are going to get destroyed when Atlas finally shrugs.

This is pretty easy. The government enforces you to be insured.

See the problem with you guys is that you are all way too reactive, and you can’t let things process before you post. Senor Harder asked why anyone would buy health insurance until it was necessary under the new plan. Let’s take myself for example, as I do happen to be an anyone. I have a family and children, and it is the right and responsible thing to do to carry an insurance policy. Case closed. Nowhere did I say that everyone would share my conviction.

The cost of my not having an insurance plan is paid in more than money. In the end, someone has to put cash in the doctor’s hand for his services, and if I didn’t have insurance that would be the federal government well after I spent an indeterminate amount of time wading through red tape and forms. Or, I could do the right thing, and continue purchasing an insurance plan.

There is nothing about the health care act that says health care is now “free”

If people are inherently good and inherently willing to responsibility care for themselves, there is no need for any law. If you feel that your money would be best served paying for medical insurance for people you don’t know who may or may not be deserving, you are more than welcome to do that in a free society.

If you dems are so inherently good to do right with this as law, why wasn’t this set up as a voluntary government program? Set up a voluntary tax for all these do gooders. I’m sure you would pay yours.

That’s the great part of having a free society, you can do what you want with your money. You and I start having issues when you don’t allow me to do what I want with mine.

The whole point to the opposition to this bill is the fact that responsible hard working people (most people) get screwed. If you are already taking care of you and yours you now get to take care of the ones that aren’t too.

How this idea is still so hard to grasp by people who have grown up in the USA, thier great grandparents and grandparents and parents fighting and dying to keep them free. When did they learn the lesson that America stands for forcing people to do things for the benefits of others. I actually think I blame Nationalism. People got to the point where Americans thought so highly of themselves over the rest of the world, that we felt we were actually doing something BAD if we didn’t spread our awsomeness to the rest of the downtrodden humans on the planet. And now that we ourselves after swimming a million miles with the world in tow are struggling to keep our own head above water and the pride these people still feel not only prevents them from letting go of the ropes we tow, but actually has them actively looking for more people to drag into the abyss with us. If we let go of the tow ropes we could swim to shore quite easily, but to these prideful Americans who most have never lifted a finger to help another human being, simply don’t want thier image tarnished.

Lol @ borrek having the lamest PWI response of all time and trying to recover by playing semantics with PH - after all, borrek does count as “anyone”.

And Vegita - your response to him was EXACTLY how I reacted. Flabbergasted, really.
