Has anybody had any experience with the plate loaded Technogym Row? I was looking at it online and it looked pretty good, I was thinking about suggesting it for my gym. I like the older style plate loaded Hammer Strength Row.
I haven’t had a chance to actually use this one so I was wondering what your thoughts were? Can you go heavy and it is still comfy, anything about it weird or poorly designed? Thanks.

We’re assuming then that your gym does not now have an HS row machine?

Yeah, the main gym I workout at currently does not have a plate loaded HS row. They have the selectorized HS high and low row but they both pretty much blow, and I don’t like the new HS plate loaded row as much as the first version. The manager, whom is pretty serious and diesel, is excited about the technogym row and it does look cool on the website, he wants me to suggest that to the owner but I only get so many suggestions that count, so I don’t want to recommend something that ends up collecting dust.
I personally really don’t like Technogym equipment at all. Its all sexy design and little function with them. Saw a piece up assisted pull out equipment from them and it was probably the most outlandish thing I have seen.
My gym has both Nautilus and HS plate loaded seated row machines and they are great. Would never swap for a piece of Technogym equipment.

Well, any of their equipment that I have come across in various gyms has seemed rather flimsy and dodgy, IMHO.
Go with Hammer Strength or check out Dave Tate’s stuff at efts.com. His machines are made for psycho 300lb powerlifters, so you know they are built to last.
