um… why are you doing them in that order?? i think you are supposed to squat then clean then press. maybe it doesn’t matter, but you keep the order the same every time - right? i know my press got stronger when i started doing it first because i was fresher. actually… come to think of it that is probably why my press is weaker these days.[/quote]

I always aim for the order we’re supposed to do them, but the one squat rack we have was occupied by some guy doing what appeared to be practice seizures with a bar in his hands. I had to do the warm up ones off to the side, but I need the safety of the cage for any weight. So, it’s change up the order or sit around waiting for the douchebags to clear.

I nap everyday for like an hour, without that I couldn’t do the other sessions. How much resting are you doing? Resting is a part of training.

Oh, it’s not a bruise like that. It’s a like someone punched me bruise from the bar just being heavy and my shoulders not used to the pressure.

I liked him at first, he’s gotten a little too gay lately.

the one thing i’m not liking about starting strength is having to wait for equipment to free up. with oly lifting i just need the women’s bar (handily locked in a cabinet and i think i’m the only one using it) and a bit of free space. we have 2 squat racks, but sometimes i need to wait for one to clear, yeah. i have always waited, though, but i guess i’m lucky that i have the luxury of time. i am getting a bit better with being more assertive, too. if someone isn’t squatting i ask if it is okay for me to work in to do squats and they have always given me space to do that. i like to rest a lot for squats, so all is well.

i’m also getting much more pissy when people don’t put their weights away. have had times where i’ve waited because i thought the racks or benches or whatever were in use. now, if there isn’t a person in the vicinity i’ll ask loudly if it is in use or not. if i see people go to leave without cleaning up i’ll tell them to put their shit away, too. i am turning into a bit of a grumpy bitch heh. also starting to get to know some of the regular guys better, too, now that i’m training a bit later most evenings. really nice bunch of guys, actually. nice sense of camaraderie and they work hard. had a go with some hand grippers but i got a bit self conscious about my bicep pump lol. will wear a compression top next time and have a proper go.

changing the order does alter the difficulty. i’m anxious not to do anything to mess up my squat progression / to make squats any harder than they need to be so i’m bloody determined to do them first.

i think i’m resting quite a lot. getting quite a lot of sleep. i’m a sleep lots kinda person. 8 hours is pretty standard for me. if i have nights with an hour or two less then within a couple days i have nights with an hour or two more. usually have ‘resets’ of up to 13 hours once every couple weeks or whatever as needed, too. very lucky that i can get so much sleep. or perhaps it is more that… i’m not very functional without it.

i don’t watch the family guy very often - but have watched it a couple times and really liked stewie. probably have only seen older episodes.

Oh I get really pissy when people don’t put their weights away. They don’t always react well when I tell them either. I’m not the sort of woman who can bat my eyelashes and say in a sweet voice “oh honey, would you mind putting your barbell away?” when what I really feel like saying is “Oi, cunt, I’m not yer fucking mother, put your barbell away before I stick it up yer arse.” Obviously, I don’t actually swear at them but I generally point to the sign that says put the weights away, mention health and safety, all while wearing a grumpy face.

I can’t wait, I feel like I already spend a lot of time at the gym. We also have a few guys that do their whole ridiculous routine in the one power rack. I know it affects things, but i need to work on everything, so I don’t really fret.

Ok, my dear, you have to get over this. You do not have man arms, and I do not have man shoulders. After reading either one of our logs anyone can see that we’re full of emotional, doubting, contemplative estrogen. On that note, I know it’s easier said then done. Post a pic in a tank top, put it in your log, everyone will come help drive that feeling out of your head.

That’s exactly me. I reset every week though, I’ll be fine for a few days then need a nice 12 hour run. Man, I love sleep.

I, uh, bat my eyelashes and tilt my head to the side a bit. But your words are usually what I’m feeling. I just grew up with a mom that uses a veneer of innocence and some flirting to get out of anything. Once she actually played stupid and got out of a ticket for going the wrong way on a one way, even though she did it intentionally.

Yeah, so I bumped spin to try a running day. Not going to happen, after about a mile the ankle screams. Spent 15 min on the treadmill then 30 min doing ankle rehab stuffs. I think my only running will be post lifting ‘exerts’ for a while.

PM
Warmup - I was in a hurry, so I just did the essentials

Squat
BWx5 45x5 65x5 95x3x5
Man, I wanted that 95 to be more but I just couldn’t. Argh

BB BP
45x5 65x5 85x4 80x3x5
I couldn’t do the 85, also Argh. I can’t seem to keep my back tight for the whole set. I need to work on that.

Sumo DL
135x5 155x5 175x3x5
Also Argh, they went up, but it was a struggle. Next time I do these, I tape them!

400 m run

Spin

Ah a fellow sleep lover! Don’t worry, I also complain a lot too.
And I can’t stand to wait for gym equipment, I-just-won’t-do-it anymore, have not for the last couple of years. Which of course limits the amount of gyms I can go to but I’m just too stubborn.

With ya on the sqwats. It is a battle of epic proportions with me. sigh We WILL get there eventually.

So funny about the gym fucktards. My last go around with with a turd who took the clamps off of my rack while I was warming up with the bar. Ummm…WTF. So I retrieved clamps from another local and began to load my bar, all the while muttering, gesturing and giving the stank eye to the said turd. He did acknowledge his fuck up and apologized profusely. I said, “It’s cool man, just ask next time. Don’t assume that I won’t be putting weight on the bar and needing the clamps”.

Frustrating to say the least. I must say that, for better or worse, I am much more lenient with young male breaches of gym etiquette than female breaches. I guess I figure that if you are a female and in the weight room, then you know the drill.

peaches you are looking busy busy indeed

Ss has you do squats before cleans.
hmmmm.

for the olifts you do the cleans, then squat as accessory work
but dont cross the rip to qoute the man himself that would be gay.

Okay Peaches as promised I will daily check on your progress and videos. I dont do kitty pics though.
