Boo on bad yoga teachers. Yeah some yoga moves I just don’t see the point. I do yoga but only if the poses are going to help me do something else or to relax. I do like the tree pose for opening up my hips though. Poor ankle.[/quote]
Since I keep my foot on my calf, it’s less of a hip opener than a ankle stabilizer for me. I’ve done enough yoga and reading that I can usually figure out why we’re doing poses, but when I can’t see why, my mind wanders. I have no qualms about just hanging out in childs pose if what the class is doing seems stupid. I really like childs pose.

Is there a story behind this? I feel like this was learned through first hand experience.
Mine’s also included in my membership. I found one instructor I like and I’m sticking with her. I don’t like the breathing practice either, we spend a min or two at first breathing and calming down, but after that she just reminds us to breathe when people are straining. It seems to be really instructor dependent. I don’t like the classes that are too focused meditation either.

yeah. i like a lot of the standing balance stuff - can tell that it really would feel amazing if i could bloody well do it. frustrating, though, because i can’t quite pull it off and holding onto something doesn’t allow you to activate the way things are supposed to.
actually… i’ll put that shit back in my recovery day. it is kinda fun… and i need to work my hip mobility some more.
i’ve found a few different strength standards things… they seem to vary a lot. that one went nice on military press, i think. or maybe that really is my best lift progress wise. hmm.
My beach is a beach, so you guys can all just can it.

lbsxsetsxreps
Press 20dbx5 Barx2x5 50bbx3x5
I’m going to have to look up what all these different presses are, I’ve confused myself on the subject. I think I’m doing a MP now, I don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing, or if that’s even what I’m actually supposed to be doing.
Clean Light Barx5 Light Bar +50 x4x3
These felt a lot better wrist wise. Alexus pointing out that my hand didn’t have to be under there, and Kev’s choking tip were really helpful.
Squat
BWx5
45x5
Here my adductors started to complain, so I went and did some mobility stuffs, and jumped a bit.
65x5
This felt super heavy!
85x5
I used Nadia’s “it’s five fucking seconds” to do
95x3x5
Used the one set and then you can stop trick to get through all 3. Why does that work? Why do I have to occasionally trick myself into doing something I already know I can do? How many people are in my head?
I’ve been doing a lot of log stalking lately, and am starting incorporate learned things from them and it’s been really helpful. Thanks guys!
Trav does the good girl/bad girl machine, as do a lot of PW ladies, and the sumo article recommended it, so I played with that machine a bit. It doesn’t have numbers, I think so no one gets their feelings hurt, so I just did a few reps of good and bad at whatever 3 clicks is.

I love a good mind fuck. I have always thought that my head has been a weakness for me, but I’m getting better at pushing my limits. Every time you do more than you think you can is proof that you are capable of more than you think you are. And now, in addition to the mind fuck game, you have can go back to this victory like a well and draw strength from it again and again.

Not me, though it’s definitely something I would do. My friend’s wife. She had a bruise on her forehead for a week.
It’s already Friday? How the hell did that happen?
Tuesday AM
Spin
Super uncomfortable due to clothing technical issues. I’m at that weird transition size, where my fat clothes are loose and my thin clothes are too tight. This is giving me bra issues. I need a good intermediate sized bra. Suggestions? I’m like a 34D, and I need to be able to jump without issues.
PM
I had a tummy ache and did not want to go to the gym, so just walked. Highlight - 15% incline at 2.5 for 2 min. Fuck that’s steep!

There was a group of douchbags playing on the benchs, I waited a while, but they didn’t seem to be in any hurry. Had to use dbs.
Thursday’s workouts were brought to you by spite and stubbornness.
AM
Woke up a cranky motherfucker. Had said I was going to run, at least a little. My whole body was already sore.
Foam rolling/PVC lower body
Lots of stretching
Walked on treadmill, then started to jog (it’s a type of running). Started to up the pace. Ipod caught on treadmill and flew off. Stopped to get it. Jog again, up the pace, water bottle jiggle out of holder and fly across room. Stop to get it. Jog again with ipod and water bottle on floor. Finally got up to a 7 for .5 miles. Did a bit more jogging, called it a day.
I haven’t run in years, this was a lot for me. What’s the best way to ease into it? I was thinking a lot of short fast bursts slowly making them longer bursts, or do I just go slower for longer?
Huffing and puffing I walked into the locker room, and said to the lady starting at me “running is hard.” Her reply with out missing a beat “yeah, that’s why I don’t do it” Yup, I’ve gotta run more.
