I think you are losing the arch in your lower back. Did it feel like you were falling forward?

I found this to be EXTREMELY helpful with my squat form.

I actually try to remember to re-read it before I go to the gym.

Pch, those actually weren’t too bad. That article that busy posted is pretty good as well.

But sit back on your heels more, you should be able to wiggle the toes some both top and bottom of the squat, bend the hips first to sit back almost like sitting backwards onto a chair. Knees also came way out in front of your toes at the bottom, you ideally want them to line up no farther than the tips of your toes, this is what happens if you don’t sit back. You want your shins to be as close to perpendicular to the floor as possible. Try to push the elbows down and keep you chest out a little more. That will help you sit taller and be more upright.

The food looks delicious! Merrell just came out with 2 more styles of the women’s barefoot shoe. So there are lots of colors and styles to choose from now. I’m going to give it a few months, but I definitely see another pair in a different style in my future!

I hope your feet are feeling better since the run.
Cool, I just need to find a place to try them on. My feet are feeling way better. I ditched the shoes, and just lifted in my ballet flats the last two days. It’s actually worked out wonderfully. They’re not really made for anything cardio though, so I’ll still need an alternative for gym time when I have to wear shoes that stay on my feet.

Hi Pch

It is hard for me to tell depth, from this angle, but you look deep. I think you can definitely handle heavier too as you went up fast. I can’t really see a problem.

It might be better next time if the camera is on a bench instead so you can judge depth better(instead of pointing down) but it looked deep to me. Your core looked strong too.

What do you feel is wrong with it?
Next time lower camera angle it is.

I feel like I’m getting deep enough. But then what I think my body is doing, what I tell my body to do, and what my body does are not always the same thing.

I can go heavier, but my form goes to hell quickly. So, I think I might go a little heavier and just work on form and proprioception for a while. I want to be able to set up my stance more naturally. Right now I have to think about everything.

I usually feel like I’m going to tumble backwards. I’m not sure on that last one what I was thinking. I’ve narrowed my stance to hip width and it’s making keeping my heels down much more of a problem then it’s ever been.

I skimmed the article, and I’ll read it tonite, but I’ve been using the guidelines from Starting Strength. Just skimming I can already see differences.

I’ve been using a thumbless grip from the book, and I actually really like it. I uh, think I broke my hand a while ago, and uh just ignored it… so now there’s a weird bump in my palm and the suicide grip doesn’t bother it. (I have no idea why I don’t just get this stupid little shit looked at by a real professional) Is there any reason to use my thumbs? No thumb feels more natural.

Thanks Herc. I will sit back more, Beans said something similar. Which way is down for elbows? Towards the floor or towards my body? I always see that suggestion in other logs and can never figure out what it means.

Cute Calves.

Purty Hair.

you’re on your toes, like you’ve already heard.

I hate being late to the party~

You’re chicken winging it a bit, rotate the elbows downward so they are more under the bar, maybe not completely under but closer. This will help you sit up taller at the bottom of the squat.

Too busy stripping for Charlie, huh? I’ve seen the things you do in that log.

You want me nekkid in your log also? I do what I have to do…

I totally relate to this!

Still Nice squatting. Sounds like you’ve gotten lots of good advice. Unfortunately, I have nothing to add. Squats are not really my friend. I tend to good morning them a bit too.

Wait, is that how you get people to look at your log, Edgy?

I have been wondering what I have been doing wrong…

And here I thought it was the SRC vids…

How come you never get naked in my log?

Hi Patch! (giggity!)

I didn’t know you don’t eat meat? I’ve sort of morphed into a vegetarian as of late - haven’t eaten meet in a week, lol! Pork farmers nationwide are wondering “WTF?” I just don’t feel like eating meat these days tho. Must be the post-surgery…

Squats looked good - but yeah, what everyone else said (taking notes myself - great feedback!)

You’re cute btw. Just sayin’

yup elbows down and chest up.
depth seems fine.
the other comments have already been said - including the pretty hair

Ha, are you trying to tell me you’re not already naked. Come on Edgy, we all know the rule about pants. I present to you the best venn diagram ever.

food and squats look good.

Maybe try and sit back more on the way down, instead of bottoming out right away?

Yeah, the whole we are our body, yet we often refer to our body as something we own thing is mind boggling to me.

Squats and I haven’t been close friends ever. More of a relationship where we tolerate each other, but this summer I’m working on that relationship. We will be best of buddies.

Venn diagram is correct.

And yes…I’m already nekkid.
