I wanted to post this here rather than KB-specific sites because, well, they’re biased.
I want to continue to progress on my KB work, which is a Pavel program that has you do 100 KB swings and 10 get ups 4-6 times a week. I want to also want to continue to keep barbell work in my training for obvious reasons, but want to be mindful of not piling on too many things at a time. I recently got the Tactical Barbell book, which looks awesome albeit very similar to barebones 531 programs. It also is known for its flexibility and fits into other endeavors.
Here are my thoughts going into the New Year. Please let me know if you think it’s too much or just a bad idea. Goals: be fit and strong, progress on my KB swings and get ups. A shorter term goal is to do 100 1-arm swings and 10 turkish get ups with a 36 KG bell within the timed limits of Pavel’s program (5 minutes for the swings; 10 minutes for the get ups). Perhaps achieving this within 1-3 months, while also maintaining overall strength on barbell lifts.
