I did TRIBEX, then Alpha Male. In fact, I was on Alpha Male when the test was done! My case is unusual from my many years in martial arts. I love to kick my opponents in the head (hence the user name). Well, when the leg goes up, your groin is exposed and I’ve been nailed there several times. Ding dong!! (this is why you never kick high in real fighting! Knees or lower!) I am going to discuss with the endo using Teslac or Arimidex, but if there’s none being produced, there’s none to stop aromatizing.
I agree with what Wizlon said about this up above. I have a question about the T-level test. When this is done are you supposed to be in a fasting state (no food or drink for 10-12 hours)? If this is the case it would make sense to me that I would be in a “high catabolic state” as the doctor stated. That is why I don’t like doing those blood tests because I know it puts me in that state because I don’t take in a meal or supplements every three hours that I normally do.
I have to believe that as a lifter there are times when T-levels will drop due to training volume/intensity. I believe there has to be a point when there is a rebound in the T-level. For me to be experiencing some small strength gains from time to time along with having a great sex life, it’s hard for me to understand how my one-time test showed me at 186 could be constant.
I think sometimes these doctors are just looking for stuff to make a case out of. I originally went to the doctor because I needed to get my CPAP machine turned up (I have sleep apnea). Now it’s turned into this crap of the doctor having me coming back to the office over and over so he can bust my balls about training with blood tests at every turn and new revelations and problems every time I show up despite the fact that physically I feel great. Here is how the last conversation went:
Doctor: “Your hormone level is in the cellar. You’re seriously overtrained and in a catabolic state. You need to forget about powerlifting. Metabolically, you are not suited to be a powerlifter. Genetically, you’ve reached your potential. You won’t gain size or strength anymore from this point without using anabolics. You were dealt a ‘bad hand’. There is no way you can stay at your current weight of 270 and get stronger without having to get bigger. Just forget about strength and size and just get cut. Forget the squats and deadlifts and just do 30 lb. arm curls. You need to go from 14% to 8% bodyfat. Stop eating carbs. I think you may have a fatty liver from your training diet. I want to do an ultrasound”.
This has really pissed me off the last couple of days. I think the guy is a quack. I’m not doing the ultrasound and I’ve cancelled my appointment. I feel great and I’m going to just train. If drug free powerlifting and training is going to kill me then so be it.
First off, I’d like to apologize to everyone in this thread for my earlier outburst, but that kid was really grating on my last nerve.

I’d have to agree with you. That first Doc’s opinion smells like a BS story. He sounds like he has a problem with athletes and especially strength athletes.
You don’t seem to be symptomatic at all and to make that determination off a single blood test and no symptoms doesn’t sound like good science to me. However, just to play it safe I’d seek the advice of another Doc, perhaps one with a background in Sports Medicine and get another test and a second opinion.
If you do please keep us updated on your progress. Best of luck to you my friend,
Ass Buster

Damn!i`m glad i stopped Krav Maga, everything starts with a kick or a hit in the groin.
did the Doctor tell you this was due to the many kicks you got there?
Yeah, he said that injuries there were ‘likely culprits’. Since I had a score of 146 while wearing a cup, I can only imagine how I’d be if I didn’t wear one. I have fought more than a few guys at tournaments who don’t wear one (which is plain stupid).
The key to watch for in all of this is your mood. If you are pissed off more easily lately, have no patience with your loved ones or co-workers (note that these are the same for Clinton – bad joke), get tested. It just might be the T, esp if you are 45+.

I’m 35 and feel like this a lot. I thought being pissed means high T.

Oddly those symptoms can be the same if theres a lot of T in blood. im glad to say i still got normal levels.
and i got my girlfriend pregnant few months ago too.
if you decide one day to go with injections, look for Nebido by Shering.
youll only need one injection every 10-14 weeks. though im not sure if it`s available in US right now.
Never heard of Nebido. Thanks for the tip – will ask the endocrinologist.
I was surprised by the low T. I thought those symptoms were associated with high levels also.
