Melee classes just get shafted after Act I inferno. The only way I can progress with my barbarian is with me holding mobs in place while my ranged friends nuke them. Repair costs suck.

The problem was that the items necessary to beat an act wouldnt drop until several acts later. Its how blizzard funnels people into using the AH, and with the Real cash AH implemented much sooner than it shouldve been, they plan to reap the rather large cut of sales. The new patch in system has more lvl 62/63 gear “dropping,” however, the gear still sucks ass. I find myself farming Inferno Act 2 for money, and i just end up merchanting most of it. ANything that requires you to be lvl 60 to equip needs three things: All resistance, Vitality, and the stat of your class. And most the shit i see is worthless. Its why im STILL stuck on Ghom, and ive been in act 3 for like 2 weeks.

not even in Inerfno yet, playing like 1-2 nights a week tops for an hour or two, no time. I only have two friends still playing so I try and do group play since it’s more fun.
Denali#1454 I’ve also got SC2 and I kind of want to give it another try, I couldnt get into it the first time.
edit: I thought barb was one of the easiesr classes for Inferno. D3 is so heavily gear based though so good gear is probably more important than what class you pick. The world first hardcore inferno diablo kill (pre inferno nerf patch) was done with a barb. Google kripparrian.

I’m on the fence wrt inferno. I’m not that good at video games in general, I’ve only ever owned a computer (no nintendo etc.) and I don’t play that often. The amount of people complaining on blizzards forums was surprising and they didn’t sound like the game was that fun. If I spend all my time getting one shotted and repairing I’ll be giving SC2 another try soon.
My wizard got totally cheesed by the IAS change. Probably going to level another character since I’m just pissed at my wizard right now. I know people bitch about barbs, but I’ve got a barb sitting at Act 1 Hell I haven’t touched in a few weeks.
Might give him a go.
I’m hearing positive’s about the item drop increase.

Well that explains it. Wep im using right now its a 1300dps, 800life per hit, 3% dmg back as life axe and he drops me like a rock when im not In zerker mode.

Act 1 was still pretty easy. Act 2 is the devil, but once you fully grasp resistances, it gets a bit easier, but Belial is fucking impossible for Barbs to easily down, it takes a combination of freakish luck and skill. Act 3 can be very stupid, as my resistances are 600-700 and i can still drop like a rock to groups of blues. I find myself sacrificing more and more Hp for resistance, as im currently only sitting at 60k hp.
I still wouldnt trade my barb though, even though Barbs and monks have the hardest end game fight.

I’ve been playing, had a late start I think this thread was pretty much dead when I bought the game otherwise I would have posted earlier.
Just got back into it recently, WW/CM wizard here, can pretty much faceroll act 3 and 4 in inferno grouped with a barbarian or monk.

I personally got bored with everything D3 and i’m playing path of exile now. D3 needs more polish, it’s too heavily dependent on buying from AH or farming for days on end to beat inferno. I will say I had lots of fun and played through 3 60’s and beat inferno. It’s worth 60$ considering you can play it for free forever. I just haven’t logged in a few weeks.

I dont even think im gonna bother. They are making some needed adjustments, sure, but nothing they are doing really looks like it is going to put the fun from diablo 2 into diablo 3.
