I know there’s already a Diablo III thread but i wanted to make one specifically for the purpose of being able to meet up with other members in game. Just got my copy home and am installing it as we speak, servers go live in an hour and a half. My battle tag is Vance#1618 if anyone wants to hit it up.

Yeah only took me about 20 minutes to get in at about 6 30 am today. had no problems at all after that.

The game sucks. I’ve put in about 60 hrs hoping it will get better, but it blows.
Blizzard has pretty much addressed the fact that the game is F’d up but they don’t have enough data yet to determine what fixes need to be made. I believe they are putting out a statement today about this though.
Im pretty disappointed with the optimization of this game. It seems to slow down on my pc at random, even on low settings. And this is a system that i played mass effect 2 on with maxed out settings and witcher 2 on all high with no problem.
The gameplay itself is fun, when its not stuttering like a motherfucker, and i am not too upset about it being dumbed down since it allows you to respec for boss fights and when soloing or playing with friends, but Diablo 2 still reigns supreme.

As a barb in act 2 inferno this is all that needs to be said, until it is fixed the game just went from being awesome to shit.
I’m hoping some badass people out there make a mod to make this game decent, like D2 standarts.
I’m furious how games these days are comming out dumbed down for the casual player.

And yet, they don’t give you a bunch of worthless skills like they did in WoW for so long. Let’s keep in mind that D2 sucked at first too. People only remember the glory days of LoD and just prior to it, they don’t recall when D2 first came out and suffered from a lot of problems.
I’m furious with how games come out these days are simply made easy for the casual player. Think back to Super Mario where you had 3 lives (and whatever few you found in-game) to beat the game. No check points, no saves. I’m glad they’re not nerfing content and just choosing to tweak things. I’m thrilled people are getting stuck in inferno.
There will be no mods of this since it’s all server side.

There are things they did right, thats for sure, but the game is decidedly not Diablo in my opinion. Very little about it feels like D2 or has the same charm and allure.
Hell i had more fun playing titan quest when that came out, and that was 4 damn years ago. The only thing diablo 3 has on that game is the fact that the skills are balanced better and scale better into harder difficulties.
I don’t think they’ll be boosting the Barb but rather nerfing the classes that are rolling thru inferno (wizard and maybe DH). I got my barb up to 20, read that they were the worst and switched to a wizard.
I do know multiple people have solo’d inferno as a barb (albeit with awesome gear) and according to some super duper gamer it is statistically possible to beat inferno as a barb solo on hardcore and that’s his next plan. He solo’d inferno diablo with his barb in under an hour. I feel like people just need to give inferno more time but since I haven’t gotten there yet that’s just speculation.
I didn’t play very much D2 (and what I did play was a while after it came out) but this game definitely doesn’t feel as evil.

It’s not your computer. It’s their crappy servers. You’re playing the game on their servers. Doesn’t matter what you put the settings to. Had a friend who was trying to play hardcore, but died due to lag or being dropped from their servers. It was a terrible idea to put this game on servers.
I also hear there is a hacker problem with people getting their accounts stolen or something.
