I’m very anxious to start the t-dawg diet…my first real “cutting diet.” ive read the Diet Manifesto at least 20 times and have found it to be perhaps the best article t mag has ever written…but i have a question:
how important is meal timing? in other words, do i need to sequence the meals as listed in the article. can i have my “mess o greens” meal a few hours before i workout…then follow my workout up with my post-workout drink…then go to be in a few hours??
On a ketogenic diet meal frequency is much less critical, in fact many believe that you can lose fat quicker on this type of plan eating less frequent meals, such as three or four.
Meal timing is important, as in you should get multiple meals spread throughout the day with adequate post-workout nutrition. I like to get some protein in me before bed , too. However, the salad is no big deal. Eat it whenever, or don’t even eat it. It just adds a health factor to the diet. If you’re going to adopt the diet (or your own variation of the diet) long term, then the salad can be important, but most people just use the Dawg to cut up quick. They don’t “live” on the diet.

The salad just adds a health factor to the diet, but it doesn’t make much of a difference when you eat it. In fact, I’ve worked with several people who don’t do the salad part. That’s fine, especially if you’re just using this as a short term diet and not a long term eating plan.
