T-Dawg 2.0 Questions

I’ve some questions on the T-Dawg 2.0 diet. If anyone can help out, I’d appreciate it. I didn’t see much of a thread under the article nor did much show up on a “Posts” search.

  1. I calculated for 190 lbs, I’d be getting more calories from fats than either protein or carbs. (Using 4 cals per gram of carbs or protein and 9 per gram of fat). Is that right?

  2. It says that after a week, you might reduce the calories by 500 if the weight loss isn’t happening. Protein & Carbs seem to be fixed numbers, so do you dock all of the 500 cals from the fats you were taking in earlier?

  3. Training Days - 100g carbs, non-training days - 70g carbs. Are “training days” every day you lift weights or every day you do something? If I was to do GPP on the days I wasn’t training weights, does that necesitate 70g or 100g?

  4. Spain has filthy cheap sunflower and olive oil - can they be used to fill up the fats section?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

For reference, I calculated:
190 lbs in weight
Training Day -
Protein 285g (1140 cals)
Carbs 100g (400 cals)
Fats 146g (1310 cals)

Non-training Day -
Protein 285g (1140 cals)
Carbs 70g (280 cals)
Fats 159g (1430 cals)

Bump?

flynniec6,
Did you base your calorie intake of 2850 on total body weight or on LBM? Also, has that factored in the reduction of calories for fat loss?

If you are basing the total calories on TBW you need to figure out what your lean body mass weight is and base you calorie needs on that.

Then, as long as you are getting your healthy fats everything should be good to go. As far as sunflower oil, what I have seen says it is pretty good although I would make sure you get plenty of fish oil and flax seed oil as well.

Oops, made a mistake. I meant to ask if you based your protein needs on LBM or TBW? Also, did you get your calorie intake based off of using a food log for a couple weeks?

Another answer to one of your questions is to use training days as days you are in the gym. GPP days drop the carbs down. I did that and it worked really well.

I’m sure there are wiser people that can answer more of your questions but I’ll see if I can find more info for you.

Thanks very much. I’m just starting, so there’s no food log to check as yet - I’m still on the break-in week. Since I was doing calculations earlier this week, I asked before it became an issue.

I used TBW, not LBM. I’ll switch.

I’ll get the fish/flax oil. If they have flax oil here. Thanks again.
