T-Colostomy Bags

Here’s what it all boils down to. The threads have gotten weaker but the responses have gotten even more lame. There are a lot of people on here that are fairly big guys and experienced gals with alot of knowledge and room to talk during various subjects.

The main problem is many people talk bigger than they appear. New people come and go in posts looking for info all the time, the problem is if a question has been asked before they are instantly an idiot for not checking back forums first. If a repeated question is posted and you’ve heard it before and it annoys you skip it and let someone who has something valuable to say make the next post. Now should be the days of those of us who have put the time in to help those that are trying.
Right. It drives me crazy when 10 assholes just say use the search function. The quote, “There’s nothing new under the Sun,” springs to mind. Most things on these boards have been covered.

Even those occasional questions by so-called advanced lifters who are too busy to answer some of the more basic questions but will take the time to post and yell at the newbies/visitors who ask them.

70 percent??? I’d hazard to guess you’re out of your fucking mind, and being far too generous.

There’s maybe 10 people on this board who I take seriously for their training/nutrition advice.

Plenty of others entertain the hell out of me, and once in a while contribute something outside of the “Get a Life” or “Sex and the Male Animal” threads, but a lot of those people don’t claim to be all hardcore know-it-all trainees either, so I don’t think they’re technically “posers”.

Either way, hurry up and reply PGA, I can’t wait to hear how much of a poser you are…
Since I have not trained to pack on as much muscle mass as possible for the past few years does that make me a poser?

I use this site for motivation to keep me hitting the weights as well as entertainment value.

Just because I am am not working toward getting huge does not mean that my opinion that there are too many whiners and trolls on this site is not valid.

Bauer has a great point. There are very few people here that can offer serious training advice to the advanced lifter.

Use The Search Function!
(just kidding)

Brad Cardoza has the Stones and Tires strongman thread, and some very impressive results,

Erica is a powrlifter out of Diablo Barbell, also very impressive.

Judging by this pic of himself he posted in May, he should be DLing a ton.

I actually have longer arms than normal. I fight a neck injury that I dont know where the hell it came from. Doctors couldnt pinpoint what it is. They think it could be vertibre at the base of my skull. There are 2 vertibre that are pretty much touching. It could have been from a snowboard fall 3 years ago. Thats the only jarring hit I have taken in years.

When I squat the bar is below that area and has never given me a problem. Since about 1.5 years ago the deads have only been higher-reps (8 rep range) so I didnt lose all the strength in if for golf season.

This season I’m going to try a full west-side template and see if it bothers me. The neck feels strong now so hopefully it will stay that way.

PGA, I’m gonna take this thread seriously. Let’s get some facts straight.

 1. You’ve been here for years.
 2. You’ve read serious, tested and proven articles for increasing muscle mass.
 3. You’re complaining about the lack of these “good ole’ days” articles and members sharing their methods and success stories.

These are fine and dandy. Legitimate gripes. This is where it gets funky.

How has any of these articles and/or members’ stories helped you in your progress to get man-sized? How much weight have you gained in the time you’ve been here. How much more improved has your strength gotten in the time you’ve been here? I’m looking for concrete numbers. If you’ve demonstrated average gains representative of the time you’ve been here… THEN your gripe is worthy of consideration. IF you’ve gained no substantial development: you are a poser. POSER. Can you imagine the idea of hypocrisy exhibiting this very thing that you gripe?

I’d hazard to guess 70% of the members here are fucking posers. You can spot them right away. They fucking TALK. Talk, talk, talk: never about lifting. While all the posers talk away, I’m at the gym, eating, or both at the same time. I read the articles that interest me. I scan the threads occasionally. If I have something of value to say, I’ll say it. I know the members that have anything of value to read. I read their posts. The rest is plain entertainment.

It has nothing to do with T-Nation. It has everything to do with its members. As an adult, you have to use a discerning eye and weed out the posers. Ignore them completely. They do not exist.

Where along the spectrum of poser to “Brotherhood of Iron” do you fit, PGA? With an admission on your part, I can scale your gripe accordingly. Then, I can re-think the seriousness of this thread.

First got here 142lbs skinny fat. Currently 170lbs. Was 179lbs in May, photos out there, search. I’m 5’7"

Last Max 345lbsx2

Squat
Starting Weight=Nada never did them
Last Max 345lbsx3

Bench
Starting Weight=115lbs
Last Max=285lbsx1

I lift consistantly from October to May. Every summer I play golf 6 days a week and weight training goes to the wayside. This year will be the first year I will have in gym equipment and will be able to get in more than 6 sessions total from May to August, which is what I got this year.

I like the colors red and black, I’ve hit a drive close to 400 yards and am currently a full-time designer and a part-time student.

Ten people? Your very small window (0.1% confidence interval) limits “potential” different views that may be beneficial. BUT. Your present physical stature would suggest you know what the hell you’re doing, and don’t really need info; as what you do works.

Wait. Are you suggesting that there are only ten non posers on T-Nation, or just ten people that you could learn from? There are more than ten non posers.

There are around 10 who you should listen to and a few others you can kinda listen to.

Must listen to:

Something to consider - look at your list. If you’ve been around long enough you would have seen Phill transform, from skinny to large and from student to teacher. He knew who to listen to “back in the good ole days”.

But even then the forums were basically the same as today. Granted the quality-to-crap ratio was much higher, but I attribute that to the site’s transition to commercialism.

Membership was hardcore because discovery was made by word of mouth from serious lifters, not ads and supplements and the like. Be careful what you wish for though, the site popularity that is complained about so often has brought more frequent articles, more contributing authors, more serious members, and a wider variety of information.

I consider myself a student. I’m here for the authors and the teachers. All the rest are chatters, they are easy to spot and they come and go quickly. If everyone was teaching who would be listening?

Zap my friend, is that not what the authors are for?

I used to be a reader, (not a forum member), back when Tim and TC had those little bitmap graphics to show who they were. Them little suckers were cool.
