SWR's Fat-Loss Log (22 Weeks)

Today’s 1 clean meal:
Applebees restaurant-

11oz. steak with mushrooms, onions and lots of steamed broccoli,

1 large grilled chicken Caesar salad (no croutons, no bread),

Lots of water

That was my second meal of the day. The first was just a scoop of Whey with a scoop of Metabolic Drive. No fish oil, no peanut butter.

The broccoli and mushrooms tasted incredible.

The one bad part about this meal was probably the Caesar dressing that was on the salad.

I weighed 175lbs this morning, then 180 after the meal.

I dropped some extra weight shortly after the meal with a large donation to the Porcelain God.

I have just read the whole thread. Thanks for posting and congratulations on your fat loss!

Im 5 days into the V-Diet myself and going strong. Good to see someone else is going through the same thing.

I loved hearing the toasted cheese story! The only time Im really tempted to give in myself is when there is food right there in front of me… which is quite often as there are 13 ravenous people in my house and somebody is always chowing down.

Embrace the pain I keep telling myself, “feed” off the agony : )

Keep going mate; I?ll be checking this thread everyday for inspiration!

Thanks.
Good luck with it. It gets a lot easier, the longer you’re on it.

I did get a little crabby though when people would offer me food, when they knew I was on a diet. Even though they thought they were just being nice, it really irked me.

Any idea of when you might start it yet?
It’ll probably be November, so I have the first 3 weeks of December to taper off, and then it’s holiday time and I can eat my face off to undo the diet. OK, not the last bit; the truth is I’ll probably be going to the beach for Christmas and I would rather do it with a smaller belly

Today’s Workout:

A1) Bench 10X3 275lbs
A2) Pull Ups/Chin Ups 2X3 Pull ups w/ BW+25lbs; 8X3 Chin ups w/ BW+45lbs

B) Barbell Lunges 3X6 135lbs

C1) Hamstring Curls 3 (8, 8, 7) 130lbs
C2) Tri push downs 90lbs 1X12, 100lbs 1X6

Pull ups were hurting the front (or top when my arms are raised) of my right shoulder so I switched to Chin ups.

BB lunges felt great. This was the 3rd time I ever did them, and last time I only used 95lbs so I tried 135 this time. I think I can try more next week.

Food went well except that for my first meal I forgot that I wasn’t supposed to take my fish oil caps today, so I had a few extras. No big deal.

If you could dl 435 and not pull 450…something is wrong here.I’d really think about training the traps,it’d help your grip and make them shirts fit all the right ways.

I’m not on the V-diet or Anabolic diet, but I’m “cutting”,which to me means cleaning up my diet a little and doing cardio 3x a week,so far I’ve maintained weight but I look a lot leaner(my stomach is flat again…not toned just flat, but I had let it go over the summer)and I can start eating more in Nov aswell. Not a hijack, just letting you know I feel your hunger pain.

Hey, there seems to be more people cutting/losing weight now than I thought there would be (since Summer is now over).

Congrats on your progress so far. It helps to hear about more people with fat-loss goals.

After the V-Diet, I plan on starting CT and AR’s cutting routine that’s outlined in their new ebook (Jeckle Hyde…).

My carbs will go up a bit, but overall I’ll still be under maintenance, and still losing fat.

The only thing is that I already did all the calorie figguring, but I was using my weight that I was at 3 weeks ago.

Now I’m almost 20lbs lighter so I have to re-do the math.

I’m a freekin’ idiot.

I just ran out of Surge yesterday, and had to order some today.

I think that’s the first time I ever paid for shipping on this site.

Now I need to make a substitute for tomorrow and Friday.

20 pounds in three weeks? Damn! Are you still consuming plenty of protein?

Yeah Kroby, pretty soon you’ll be the only one here w/o abs.

Great job Mightymouse.

Well, to me 18 is almost 20, but yea, I’ve lost 18 so far. I have dipped down to 175 twice already, just before Sunday’s 1 clean meal, but that meal kicks me up a few pounds, then I lose them again throughout the week, and then some.

I’m down to 177 and it’s only Tuesday, so I’ll probably get back to 175 or 174 (maybe 173?) by Sunday, then gain back the water weight, etc…

I’m taking in 235g of protein on workout days, plus whatever the peanut butter gives me, and 210 on non-workout days (again, plus what the peanut butter gives me).

My numbers were based on my 195lb start weight.

Thanks.
Hopefully my strength stays up, otherwise you can just call me “mouse”.

Hahaha.

No worries there. When I was on the V-Diet and had my healthy meal I had a baked potato with butter and sour cream along with the steak. I’d always feel bad about taking in those carbs and wondered how much it’d screw me up in the end (not much!).

I know what you mean about the pics too. I took weekly ones and wasn’t sure how much progress I was really making. I was, though. Looks like you are too.

In the end I was on it for 5 weeks and losr 25 lbs. I gained back 5 (the same thing everyone else seems to do too) after I went off but I also looked more filled out from the carbs I was taking in again. I’m back at a weight I haven’t been at in years and it feels great.

Just keep up what you’re doing and it’ll work out in the end.

Thanks, and congrats on your fat loss.

Clothes are already fitting looser.

The first Sunday I had mashed potatoes and they tasted great. I would assume they were smothered in butter though.

I lost more that week than this past week so it couldn’t have been too bad, like you said.

The only thing I’m worried about now is going right from the V-Diet to the fat-loss diet outlined in CT and AR’s ebook.

Chris recommends eating a few shakes a day still for a while when coming off of it, but that won’t work with the diet I’ll be on.

I’ll ask Chris or CT what they recommend.

I figure my metabolism has slowed down with the V-Diet (in a controlled way), and I will need to gradually build it back up a little, but I’ll still be on a fat-loss diet, so I’m wondering if I’ll need to do that at all.

Well, bulking with 20%bf would get me fat in a hurry,so I planned on dropping to 12-15% before I start again.I sittin at 16% so I can lose 3-4% in my last month of cuttin. Then I get to quit the cardio…well not quit, just tone down.

Yeah. January is “The Time” for me. SWR, keep it up man!
SWR-1240 wrote:

My weight loss varied from week to week.

The first week I lost five. Another week I lost 3 then I lost another 7 the week after that. Weird how it fluxed like that but in the end it was an average of 5 lbs a week.

Regarding switching fat loss diets, if you’re worried about gaining back what you lost I don’t think you’ll have much of a problem - as long as you don’t go crazy.

I ended up falling off the wagon for a week and ate more junk food than normal and only gained a couple pounds which were lost once I got my diet/training back on track. It’s been about 5 months and my weight’s been holding steady.

I mentioned the above because a few years back I was around the same weight I was now (198 - give or take) and ended up going on such an eating spree I ballooned to 250 lbs. I was about 225 at the Test Fest.

Since I don’t necessarily eat “clean” all the time at the moment and my weight’s still the same, that shows me how much food I had to eat to get up to that weight.

Don’t eat like me back then and you should be ok.

Good progress so far, man. Great discipline, as well. That V-diet sounds like a bitch.

Workout today:
A1) Deads 10X3 365lbs
A2) Mil Press 10X3 135lbs (only 2 reps on last 2 sets)

B) Dumbbell Flys (10, 8, 10) 45lbs

C1) DB Curls 1X4 45lbs
C2) Skull Crushers 1X6 115lbs

Military press sucked today. I wasn’t able to get the same amount of reps with the same weight I used last week.

Deads felt a lot better. I used a bar with ball bearings this time, and it also had better knurling(sp?).

Last week I used a skinnier bar that didn’t have bearings and also bent a lot more than this one. I thought I would have been able to grip the skinnier bar better, but that wasn’t the case.

I was able to get the same amount of reps with the Skull Crushers, but the reps seemed a little harder than last week, and there was a little more upper-arm movement throughout the exercise, so I really got weaker even though I did the same amt. of reps.

I drank 24oz of milk, with 1 tbsp of chocolate syrup for my PWO drink, which gave me 24g of protein, and 44g of carbs.

That was the closest I could come to getting the same macronutrients as Surge, but obviously not as high in quality.

Hopefully my Surge will get here soon.

2 1/2 weeks down, 1 1/2 weeks to go.

Even when I feel hungry, it’s not the same as before. I feel the hunger when I’m a little late with a shake, but it doesn’t bother me as much, and it’s much easier to deal with than before. It’s like I’m used to it and I just block it out, but I still get the message. It’s kind of weird, but I like it.

OK, I have to ask, why the choice on reps? CS did his doing 8x3 if I remember. Granted, you aren’t doing much more but I wonder if the low calories and the extra work is taxing your system a bit.

What are you using for rest periods?

Again, just thinking out loud and showing you that some of us are paying attention.
