k so went gym yesterday after a good few months. Had a mint as workout and fully worked my muscles hard something i shouldnt have done. woke up that night and my trapezius on my left side was fully flexed and the size of a tennis ball and to be honest i was in the worst pain i have ever felt. couldnt even move my arm or anything the next day. the day after my right pec just puffed up to and was like that for days.Anyone know what this shit is? i took some no xplode pre workout but dont think this would have any effect. I went gym today though after like 2weeks and my lifts are pathetic like my muscle dont have pain but they just have no strength or explosive power. whats up with me?
What kind of routine have you been doing for the past month?
What exercises did you do in the workout prior to your problem ?
What do you spend most of your time doing when you arent at the gym?
Havent been gym in months cuz was overseas travelling. I did bench press, dips, pull ups, reverse rows and then barbell and hammer curls and tricep extensions and pull downs. Im at uni now so pretty non strenuous lifestyle. I prob just pushed myself to hard after not working out in ages. I was doing assisted reps to fail aswell which prob wasnt a good idea.
I’ve just gone through this myself. I’ve been lifting for 25 yrs, and I’m 37. About 2 months ago I had severe pain and swelling in my left trapezius and rear/lateral deltoid, and a loss of strength in my left arm. my chiropractor and his therapists told me a had really bad trigger points around scapula, and they were pinching the radial nerve that leads to my left arm. In addition, I had a very sore and swollen rear deltoid which to me, would indicated some sort of rotator cuff tendinitis. All of these issues I believe were due to overtraining.
so is getting better? because i really want to start training again. I feel like disabled without it.
