SWIS: Dry skin - - - Fat intake?

Reading from the SWIS article I saw that UDO said one could develop dry skin as a symptom of not enough good fat. My question is that from Feb. 02 - June 02 I experimented with various low carb/keto diets. During this time I ate good fat, but more importantly I ate more fat than the present. Now coincidentally around the time I started eating carbs again I developed dry skin on my face. It was really bad. Now I use Cetaphil to moisturize my face once or twice a day. I can go a few days without using it, but I notice that the dryness is still there, just not as severe. Anybody have any ideas or similar problems?

Yes, I noticed the same thing before. But I tend to use a lot of moisturizers and lotion on my face, so I don’t notice it as much when I decrease my fat intake.

I used to have dry skin on my hands for years and years. when I finally started supplementing fish & flax oils, it cleared up perfectly. my hair isn’t as dry now either

Hi,
Re: dry skin on face.
It has been related to a wheat allergy.
I would visit your GP and have a food sensitivity test done. If you were to cut out wheat and gluten for a month it will surprise you the dryness might disappear.
Good luck Eva~

I had dry skin in the low fat/high carb days, but since I eat more sensibly, no more dry skin. Though Udo would have you believe it’s the omega-3’s, I think it is fat of any kind that will do the job. omega-3’s are of course healthy for you, though.
