Hi, I’m sure this has been asked before, but I couldn’t find anything in the search so here goes. I am doing the meltdown training thing first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Would Surge be accepteable immediately afterwards as a first meal around 8 or 8:30? Thanks.
well when else did you plan on using it?
Post-workout. It is acceptable. You may want to add another half serving or so or have a bigger second pwo meal if its the first thing in you in the morning.
To give a very short answer, Yes. It is dependent on goals but my immediate answer would be sure.
One other thing I want to touch on is the fasted state thing. You really need to be cautious with that. If your intensity is high during these fasted w/o’s then you will be most likely losing LBM instead of preserving/building it.
Good Luck
Phill
JohnnyChainsaw, I agree with Phill 100%. He’s dead-on re losing LBM.
All you need to do is set your alarm an hour before you’d normally get up and chug down a small protein shake. Go back to bed and then proceed as normal. Doing so will allow you to burn all the fat you’re hoping to, without sacrificing the LBM you’re trying to hold onto.
Interesting. Thanks for the heads up with that. When you say small shake, would that be like 1 scoop of whey and a banana in water/skim milk? I’m at about 15% body fat right now and would like to get down to 10 or so. I’m also throwing in some HIIT as well.
TT probably means 1 to 2 scoops protein in water - ixnay on the ananabay (no banana).
Johnny, RSU knows me so well. (grin)
Yup, all you need is a litle protein pre-workout. If fat loss is your goal, I would limit fruit to no more than two servings a day. The ideal times to take fruit in are PWO and post-cardio.
Milk is problematic for a number of reasons. I even hate to see people using it when bulking. Besides, it takes a while to get digested. No fun working out with that “full feeling.” Especially when you’re doing Meltdown.
Thanks, RSU!!! (grin)
