Surge and PW drinks

What’s been your experiences with Surge (to the people that have used it) ? I wanna hear some feedback before purchasing it… After reading the little article on it, it sounds like an awesome product, but just wanna hear from users who have tried it how they liked it.

You won’t find anything else like it on the market. It’s got everything you need - all the best protein, carbs, and BCAA’s that help the body shift from a catabolic to an anobolic response. And the taste is absolutely awesome. What more could you ask for?

I’ve only been using Surge for a week now and I’m already impressed. First off, it tastes great. I’m already noticing an increase in energy in my workouts and I’m not nearly as sore as I used to get. It’s made me realize how poor my after workout nutrition was before Surge and how important a quality after workout drink is. I can’t wait to see the results after taking it for the next few months. I can’t recommend it enough.

Cool, thanks for the comments. Appreciated!

I was a skeptic and now I’ve been using it for 4 months straight. You won’t be dissapointed. Buy a lot to save on shipping, or get your friends hooked, too.

I think Biotest puts cocaine in it because I am hooked…

seriously tho…I think the product is great, it tastes great and I have seen my recovery improve. I am just a regular guy getting in shape and found it to be one of the better things to use aside from good ol food and water intake.

Surge is the best! The only way I can best describe Surge is when I forget to take it, the next day (or two) I am sore and/or tired. Bottom line is, it works.

I used this for my first time today following one of CT’s programs. The first day of this workout, however, I forgot the Surge and only had some big name protein from a jug to work with. I couldn’t walk right for three days.

Today I did some vicious posterior chain work like I haven’t done in a long time. I IMMEDIATELY took the Surge PW and I could feel a little difference in my legs. Last time my upper body was shaking for the rest of the day. So far today, my lower body wasn’t nearly as bad. Maybe that little difference will end up being a major difference later on.

I know there are ALOT of other factors involved, but I’ll report my updates within the time it takes for that stupid DOMS to kick in.

Hey, there, WRCortese5. Yup, the taste is awesome, though I have to admit that I add a little more Stevia and a dash of salt because I like it super sweet. It tastes so good that there are times the only reason I would go to the gym is because I knew it’s the only way I could have my Surge.

Even when I’m cutting and doing the low-carb thing, I always save room for my Surge CHOs. It’s too darn important for recovery not to.

HI,

I have a question. I want to both burn fat and gain muscle. How do I do that with Surge? On the back it states that to burn fat one should one thing and to gain muscle one should do another. So how do I do both?

Thanks

Carlos

Hey, there, lordcarlos!

Some people like to start sipping the first liter of Surge at the beginning of their workout. The logic/science is that the amino acids will then be available to the muscles you just worked out just about the time you’re finishing your workout (1 hour max, right?). You would then drink the other half upon completion of your workout.

Another approach is to wait until the end of your workout to drink your Surge. That way the body is drawing upon fat stores to a higher degree. Anaerobic workouts (resistance training), however, preferentially draw upon stored muscle glycogen to replace ATP.

Experiment and see what works best for you. I like to start drinking my Surge at the beginning of my workout. Along with the amino acids hitting the bloodstream in that Golden Hour PWO, I find I have better energy levels. And better energy levels (for me) translate into better/stronger workouts.

If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

I find Surge to be the most filling thing. The first few times I followed directions and mixed 2 scoops (I’m about 200 lbs) with 16 oz water and drank it.
I couldn’t eat for hours.
Now I mix 1 1/2 scoops in 12+ oz water and sip during workout, finish what’s left afterward if any. Still fills me up for quite a while. Since I work out after work, dinners are getting very late.
Anyone else have this problem or know how to deal with it?

Finally my update!!

Alright, minimum soreness throughout the total of my legs with the only acception being the adductors. My lower back had some pretty mean stuff done to it two days ago (good mornings, one leg heavy back extension) and I’m almost fully recovered. This is all when it is supposed to hurt the most with the amount of times I spent with the eccentric portions of the motion. I do believe that the Surge really did help my current walking ability post leg day.

Same thing for as above; great post work out / recovery time after drinking this stuff and I have noticed decreased recovery time and increased mass/power overall in my workouts.

Now if only Biotest would start selling it in larger bulk size containers…

Major Dan, it’s worse than you think! (grin)

You’re supposed to mix one scoop of Surge with one liter (or quart) of water. A full serving is two scoops, each in a liter. You thought 16 ounces was filling? It’s supposed to be 64 ounces!!!

The amount of water recommended ensures that the Surge is sufficiently dilute, thus ensuring rapid delivery into the bloodstream. That’s why a hydrolysate whey is used. It’s a very small, very expensive protein molecule compared to “regular” whey protein.

It’s not the Surge itself that’s making you full. It’s the water. Remember that water helps hydrate the cell and primes the muscle for growth. If you’re trying to put on muscle, water is your friend. I’ll skip the lecture about water’s other health benefits. (grin)

The instructions on my Surge Tub say that for people less than 200 lbs use 2 scoops in 16 oz. People from 200-225 lbs use 2.5 scoops in 20 oz of water and people greater than 225 lbs use 3 scoops in 24 oz of water. 1 liter of water is 32 oz.

I am so confused now…

iluminatae, not too terribly confusing. If you’re 187 pounds (the body weight you list in your User Profile), use 2 scoops, each in a liter/quart of water. You can sip one during your workout and drink the second liter upon completion of the workout.

Does that make sense?

I weigh 175 pounds and have had excellent results using 4 scoops of Surge a day on weight training days…2 scoops immediately before and during and 2 scoops immediately after my workout. I’ve also found 32 ounces of water per two scoops to be sufficient to dilute the Surge enough without causing me to feel as if I have a tidal wave developing in my stomach. That said, I have had no problems at all with 32 ounces, so I could probably bump that number up without an issues if I so desired.

there is only one problem with Surge…
it’s gone before you know it.

actually, i did know it was almost empty, but it’s not the cheapest thing in the world (1 Surge/2weeks comes to $what/year?), so I had the tendency to cut down on it…

well, I moved to Singapore a few months ago, and I miss it very much.

if you can afford it, buy them in bulk, like at least 10 of them at once. and make sure to reload.

Okay thanks Terry, I was just confused because the directions on the container say to use it in 16 oz. I drink alot of water during a workout so mixing in a 1/2 serving is a great idea. BTW - yes I am 187 lbs down from 205. I am taking this week off because I have been on a fat loss program for the last 2.5 months - so far I have dropped 20 lbs of fat.
