Supreme Court Rules Against Affirmative Action At Colleges

So now a grown adult who recognizes something will intentionally sabotage a chance because his mom and dad don’t recognize it?

At what point do y’all start to realize that @tlgains trolls just for shits and giggles?

This is the 5th or 6th thread.

Not really, this thread is genuinely annoying me a bit tbh.

Have you tried picking yourself up by your boot straps?

Huh?

Too young for the reference maybe. Ignore me.

How did hundreds of my black co-workers through the years manage to go to school and obtain jobs paying $50-200k with excellent benefits, unionization, and tuition reimbursement?

Aren’t you in school too?

@tlgains by the way, if my inquiries bother you I will stop immediately. My intention was not to offend. I was simply challenging your posts.

Because they earned it

Yes

Personally, I am not a huge fan of “christianity”.

The issue is that immigrants come from 3rd world slums and war-torn countries and do well in the U.S. all the time. And this is despite them often barely speaking English. So maybe the ladder really is unnecessary?

Also, I can’t think of anyone nowadays who supports legacy admissions and isn’t incredibly biased.

Because they’re not spoiled and appreciate the opportunity. Yk what’s funny, like you, I have a close friend who grew up during the Sierra Leone Civil War. He lived in several places with his mother and sister before coming to the USA. The first place he landed in USA was Iowa…and it was also the first time he experienced racism…. Nvm that

His dream is to start his own general contracting company, really awesome dude.

The whole “legacy admissions are bad, therefore we should keep affirmative action” argument that I’ve seen a few times over the past couple days seems like pretty clear-cut whataboutism. I’m with you, I think neither should exist.

I could see some valid argument being made for affirmative action by parental income rather than by race, but to suggest that the children of a black businessperson in New York City are disadvantaged in a way that the children of a white coal miner in rural West Virginia aren’t (at least in terms of stuff relevant to admissions) is absurd to me.

Legacy admission? Like Obama?

And it was so bad he went back to Africa.

I see you haven’t done any of my recommended reading.
