Suppressed T-levels

Question. If you ate a high carb low fat
low protein diet for 15 - 20yrs could this cause a latent suppresion of t-levels? If this happens and you are now in your early 40’s can you still expect to get good strength building results? Do you lose the ability to produce testosterone other than age affects? I’m trying to dial in my expectations. Thanks.

As far a natural “T” levels go, they start a natural decline in males starting at around age 23. There is no set rate of decline it an individual type thing, however you diet does play a contributing roll in “T” production. Low fat diet = LOW “T” production. Why ?, you ask. Natural “T” production is produced by the testicles by converting cholesteral. Cholesteral is produced from fats. I am a 41 year old male and have been lifting for over a year now, and I love it. I have made some marginal gains, but nothing like the young guys (little Testosterone Factories)that frequent my gym, and I’m sure that it is the difference in our “T” levels. My advice is to find out where you current “T” levels are and go from there. There was and article done here, maybe bill or one of the other guys can help guide you to it. It eplained how to raise your “T” levels with supplements instead of using “T” replacement therapy. I used it and it raised my “T” levels from 325 ng/dl to 585 ng/dl over the period of several months. But however I am currently on “T” replacement and I love it. Good luck.

Thanks.

Actually, free testosterone doesn’t decrease until around age 40, and total testosterone remains constant until the 60’s. It’s pure myth that late teenagers and people in their early twenties have super high levels of testosterone. In fact they only have normal levels of testosterone, which don’t decline for many decades.
