Supplements During Long PL Meet

I am guessing the meet I will participate in is going to last about 5 hours. If anyone has a supplement protocol they follow for a 3-lift meet, or if they have read about protocols please post.

I will have Alpha-GPC (the newer version) and FINiBARs. I plan on drinking a carb/bcaas mix throughout the competition. And I will probably take some creatinezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Any ideas for how to utilize these supplements, or any other tips please let me know, thanks!

All I could find in the Powerlifting forum was this discussion about taking stimulants at the meet:

I’d down the Alpha-GPC before your first lift (how soon before depends on your experience with it). And maybe another at the halfway point depending on how you do on it (if you know one bottle gives you a noticeable boost for a long time, a second dose may be unnecessary).

I haven’t personally tried the new liquid form, but I think I remember seeing that plan suggested to a member’s powerlifter husband in the product thread. You might want to double-check there.

I’d definitely stick with the FINiBARs, and I’d go for Surge Workout Fuel rather than just a carb/BCAA drink. The beta-alanine in the Workout Fuel would be a big plus, and you may not “need” the creatine in addition to it.

Assuming you’ll be fully rehydrated/back at the right weight, I’d have the bars/Workout Fuel throughout the day, making sure to have a serving of each immediately after each lift (not each individual attempt, obviously).

Both of these were made specifically to be had during long competitions, so you’d be right on track with the combo. But just like with any new supplement routine, be sure to do a “test run” during training well-beforehand.
