I haven’t seen that one yet, but if this is her (MMA fighter Gina Carano), then based on her work in Haywire, she’d be better as Huntress or, maybe, Batgirl.

EDIT: Holy crap, did you know something I didn’t? She’s actually dating Henry Cavill!
I only knew of rumor that fans were yelling for her to be cast as Wonder Woman. After seeing her in Haywire, I think I may be in love.

I have seen no other woman that hot who can TRULY kick ass.

Saw it last week. I enjoyed it 100%. It felt like a comic book. Yeah, the fight scenes were fast-paced, but it made sense considering who was fighting. It’s not something I was watching hoping to see the nuances of each punch. The fights didn’t feel drawn out too long, either. Kryptonians on earth are supposed to be tough to beat up.

I also thought Kevin Costner nailed it, getting across how the Kents tried to “humanize” Clark as best they could but always tried to prepare him for his future from day one. The end (not end scene, but the general way they ended the movie) felt rushed. “Okay, those three bad guys are taken care of. All done. Gonna blend in and keep an eye on things now.”

Overall, I definitely liked it but it left me kinda discouraged about the allegedly-eventual Justice League movie. Seeing what they did with Superman (how they portrayed his powers in the world), I can’t imagine how they can make it worthwhile to have Supes and Flash and Batman and Wonder Woman (and Martian Manhunter/Green Lantern/Aquaman/etc.) all in one flick. Special effects-wise and villain-wise, I don’t see how it can match The Avengers. Like, what’s going to make this uberpowered “god” team up with a grumpy guy with gadgets and a handful of other freaks?

I’ve read rumors about everything from Darkseid to a Luthor-Joker team-up as potential villains, but that’s kinda getting off-topic. Justice League rumormilling can fill a thread of its own.
Joss Whedon wanted Cobie Smulders when he was still directing the movie… then Warner Bros panicked, fired him and made a TV series instead. Whedon never made a comic book movie again.

I’m glad that didn’t work. Gina Carano looks like a badass who could pull off “deadly and sexy”.

Joss was just looking for a pretty face. That is what fucked up that tv show also before it got released. They were trying to make it “Ally McBeal meets Wonder Woman”.

Nothing could have sucked more.

All this talk about the fight scene got me thinking. What if this reboot lasts long enough for Doomsday, maybe 3rd-4rth movie if they use Cavil in JLA. Can you imagine how they would have to top that for the battle that claims Supes?
The JLA would not work in this DC universe…unless they lower the members to maybe 3 major players and some wonder twins.
It has already been 3 major players for decades.

Supes is limited by…wait for it…STEALTH.

Yep…great place for Bats to take up slack. Superman is great with the headlining super evils that destroy the planet.

If you need to hijack a man out of a sky scraper in another country without it causing an international incident, you better have Bats on call.
And I could see all of this but it would have to be multiple planets involved. A Super bad guy or force be helped by a human supervillian. Now you need to fight on 2 fronts…JLA

A JLA movie is tough, just because DC’s characters are all SOOO strong. I mean Google the list of abilities the Flash is actually capable of and realize it’s silly that in a Universe with him and Supes there’s even crime. lol. Even DC’s ‘mortal’ hero Batman defies all odds and can take down any member of the JLA.

I guess that’s why I think JLA will be a harder movie to make then Avengers. Marvel’s ‘best’ characters are relatively weak, minus Thor and Hulk, who are still not really comparable to someone as strong as Superman, Flash, or even Green Lantern.

Ok, outside of the fact Hulk would use Supes cape as toilet paper. You are correct. That is why they would have to de-power all of them.

A justice league movie would be mega lame.

With the characters they have it just would not work on the big screen, especially now that they’ve gone dark and realistic with Man of Steel. If it was campy and light hearted it would have more hope.

You guys are missing the point here. It isnt a question of IF they make it, it is green lit for 2015. Also Man of Steel 2 also got the go ahead.

I thought we are just going over if it will be any good. I mean they also green lit Fantastic 4…twice.

Gotcha. My vote is that it will be mediocre. And Warner Brothers is going to be very regretful about having it compete with Avengers 2.

Now we just need to start lobbying for a Deadpool movie that doesnt start ryan renolds.

He already got a shot at shouldering a superhero movie on his own and failed miserably. Shouldnt be allowed a do-over.

Yes! I have won the internet finally! No more need to be on T-Nation. Goodbye earthlings, my planet needs me now.

Only because you played the Green Lantern card, what could trump that?

If BY “nailed it” you mean “to a cross to die”, then yes, he did nail it.

Ok, no way I’m the only one that thinks he aced Deadpool? Really, the first part with the team banter was gold.

Agreed.

Doesn’t one of the comic books describe him as looking like Ryan Reynolds?

If you mean in that Wolverine movie, I graded that movie so low that nothing will ever get much credit from it.

I think he had the potential to nail it…but fell short because they didn’t push the envelope.

I am not hating on Reynolds…I just think he gets way too much credit for what is mediocre comic talent and overhyped muscles.
