I didn’t know that his offer was off the table, and operating under that assumption then if you were going to get an online coach which may or may not care enough to make it specific to you then that seemed like a better option. That is why I suggested it a second time.
I wouldn’t take full coaching for free, that wouldn’t be a good thing in my opinion.
If you noticed, I didn’t once ask him and simply ignored those messages despite people trying to bring attention to it because I don’t want to take it for free.
In any case, this is just my impatience getting to me, JDM is kind of right, I just need to stay on track and not second guess myself a lot and just keep trying to progress. Again, this is just training, and given my bloodwork I shouldn’t have that much issue getting some progress (not saying I’ll get 315 bench or something) but this would be like studying algebra, anyone can learn enough algebra and basic calculus, differentiation, integrals given enough time, some will grasp contour integration fast while others will be slower.
the hard stuff (like 405 bench) comes later for things like group theory, partial differential equations where you kind of need to do “something else.”
you’re an idiot.
It seems the more muscle mass the less skills in knowing how to talk to people, interesting correlation…
my people skills are just fine. I think I communicated exactly what I think pretty clearly.
I’ve been training for 2 decades at this point, and I have only paid a coach for about a year of that time. It was after I took 4th place in a world championship in strongman, and I wanted to see if coaching could get me to the next level. Prior to that, I had worked with MANY people in the gym on different levels, and received A LOT of coaching, for free, in strongman. The gym owner at the gym I started training strongman at kind of took me under his wing and helped me, again, FOR FREE, for nearly two years. I can’t tell you how valuable that was.
So for you to look at an offer like the one you were given, and say ‘I don’t think that’s a good idea’… well, that’s idiocy. And I called you on it. Deal with it.
I don’ know if you know the context but he never really offered free coaching directly in the first place, it was more like “I was going to make you a plan,” it was kind of as if he wanted me to ask (unless I am mistaken) and if I am going to ask I can just pay for it like a business deal rather than be like “please can you make me this?”
And just for the record, seems like you’ve spent too much time in the gym and forgotten all your manners. It’s time to enrol in school with your kids to learn how to talk to people instead of putting more gear down your bloodstream.
*enroll
Look, first day of school already! Already correcting people!!!
Just FYI, in British English, enrol and enroll are both correct.
It would be similar to favorite vs favourite.
Are you British?
Well my laptop was bought in Canada and I grew up learning British English until I moved here. We use enrol here instead of enroll. Enroll is mostly American only and has red bars under it since the computer doesn’t recognize American English.
I still mix up British and American English together (sometimes for words like apologise or apologize) which I use both forms of sometimes.
I had been using enrol for a long time, our universities don’t use “enroll.”
Supercar are you just upset with your bench?
No, it will just take time to improve (but I am certain it will) and looking on my own journey I am happy that I still made it to 155 despite it being low for lifters.
I’m not really upset, I’m just baffled at how people who are what over 30 still don’t know how to talk to other people with decency. Is it a common thing amongst meatheads or juicers or what? Do they think they are better than other people lol?
I think you should sit down and read your whole journal start to finish in one sitting lol then you might understand where everyone is coming from.
Hey @supercardrives, I just read a bit of your log and it does indeed seem interesting, but I’m not going to read the whole thing.
It seems like you’re getting a bit upset with your training/progression? Are you new to lifting? How old are you?
I’ve certainly dealt with my fair share of mental barriers. I’ve been training since high school, I’m 25 now, and I’ve been training specifically for powerlifting for the past couple years. Perhaps I could help you if you had any questions?
Edit: I read your initial post, and kind of answered some of my own questions.
Idk man, I still don’t think it’s justified but you do you. You always have a choice to not look at the log rather than comment “you’re an idiot.” Kind of uncalled and I still stand by my point, doesn’t matter how many trucks you can lift if you have the decency and social skills of a monkey.
23M, thanks, nothing in specific I guess I have just been impatient and kind of expecting to have hit 225 bench 4 weeks after training on this program ![]()
In any case I feel I am not having the best time here (maybe I am more of a snowflake than I thought), I’m not going to post on the site for a while.
I’ll be back one day for the haters
No shame in stepping away. I’m about to do the same as well here soon. Good luck with training!
