Supercardrives - One More Attempt

I get my best results, body composition wise, on minimal carbs. Not keto, or anything too extreme, just not intentionally eating carbs. Your Mileage May Vary.

What do you fill up calories with in that case? 2500 seems hard on low carbs

I think you could just call pizza hut or go on their website. Probably cheaper than grub hub.

Well, if you take carbs out, that leaves protein and fats. So lots of those.

Meat, eggs, nuts, vegetables. I also use a fair amount of protein powder in milk. If i was a rich man, I’d nix that too but needs must.

I think you’re struggling with how much food 2300-2500 calories actually is when it doesnt come from something overly processed/fatty (I struggle with this too). For example: 1 ounce of tortilla chips (about 9 chips) has the same number of carbs and more fat than 1/2 cup of dry rice.

Try splitting your meals a bit more (if you can) and just do like 2 smaller ones instead of one big one, hopefully you’ll find it easier to eat while still having wholesome foods as the majority of your diet… i think you’d end up feeling like shit if you ate 300-400 grams of those potato wedges daily, but that’s just me.

that’s funny

grub hub is so ubiquitous I didn’t question calling a 3rd party to get food from a place that’s been delivering food for 30+ years

Yeah man I think so too, that would indeed be going back to my old ways  . I guess I can add nuts and stuff as well.

I’m so used to eating caloric dense food that 2500 used to be so little, now its so much haha

Where are you getting your fats from? And how much?

80-90g per day.
Some of the meal prep meals have a decent chunk of fat covered (like 40-50g)
Granola has fats
Sometimes I get 2% greek yoghurt
Protein powder
Chicken thigh if I get that

Also, eggs, chicken sausage etc

Try some dedicated fat sources if you’re short on calories. Nuts and nut butters, eggs, olive oil, etc. Oily fish (if you’re allowed). I find that helps my mood, satiety and energy.

I can’t handle the low fat BBer style diets. I like about a 1/3 from each macro. Much easier to eat like that long term IMO.

Low fat BB style diets absolutely wreck my guts, and so do low carb diets. I have to have balance if I want to be able to lift and look good.

I know a guy with a pro card in strongman (the under 105 KG class) that advocates for about a 1/3 from each macro. Dude is pretty damn jacked, so there is more than one way to do it. The low carb or low fat approach are just a lot harder at least for me to live with.

As long as I hit 200g protein from whole foods and fill in my fiber without supplements I’m usually good.

I just do protein and cals. I don’t even go for 1/3 ratios, but I think that is about where I land.

What about the hormone benefits of fat? If i recall correctly you are not natural so I guess it doesnt matter in that case?

Fat helps with hormones generally. If you don’t get enough, it can lower T.

How much money do you guys spend on food/supps/drinks/nutrition per month?
I’m spending ~ $1200 almost (living in a city).

You must be making big bucks bro :skull:

Thanks to God’s grace, I am relatively fortunate, but fitness is certainly an expensive hobby.
How much are you spending monthly? Everything is kind of expensive in my city
