…anyone see an issue with eating these as a snack???
I’ve become addicted to them and want to make sure from eating them all the time isn’t going to cause any issues. I mean, one serving of sunflower seeds go a long way… So I probably only eat 1 serving a day…

wow, really? I usually buy the preshelled sunflower seeds and mix them with a can of salted peanuts and keep it in my desk at work. Makes for a great snack, and apparently I’m getting a complete protein too. Awesome. (plus, the peanuts are great for throwing at annoying coworkers as they walk by my office door all unsuspecting like.)
Love them as well and eat a ton. There is one thing to watch for however with them as a male. The Iron content, can really jack up your hemocrit, make that blood like motor oil as men and post menapausal women should try not to get excess iron in their diet.
Just another reason to give blood on a regular basis and enjoy your seeding.
I have started eating organic roasted pumpkin seeds. They have a nutrition profile similar to that of sunflower seeds. The thing that I like is these taste salty without being high in sodium and are all organic. Yes that have a tiny bit of soy sauce in the flavouring but that is not going to kill you or give you bitch tits. Check them out here:
I used to be so addicted, and still am. But I only eat a few from the shell right now. At one point I ate so many that my tongue actually started to peal, and then less and less caused this to happen.
Now I either get them shelled, or get the low sodium ones, although I still need to watch how many I eat in the shell.
As far as the iron, avoid anything with vit C around the time you eat them, and give blood. Or see your local barber for a good bleeding. (No not that barber.)

Ah the seed tongue know it well and I actually started buying them in bulk. rinse them off which takes the excess salt from the out side and then roast/dry in oven on low heat 220-250 takes about an hour. walla no seed tongue just do a bunch at once

Yup, Miserere is addicted to them too. I particularly like the “roasted & unsalted sunflower seeds” from Trader Joe’s; 0mg of sodium :-)[/quote]
Trader Joes? Is that an online thing? I’d love to find unsalted ones, but can’t find any around my area… I eat no sodium, like I don’t add salt to anything, I just get what I get from foods, but would like these unsalted…
I’ve been eating Davids as someone mentioned… The flavored ones are good, I like the ranch, but you can’t beat the good ol’ roasted sun flower seed…
did a batch yesterday good stuff. You can also get creative and while they are wet add spices etc of your own ive done everything from bbq, spicy, to honeyroasted and cinnamon.
I buy sunflower and pumkin seeds, raw and peeled. I mix them with almonds and walnuts (all raw). I eat 1-2 melas of those, totalling 70-150 gr per day. I consider it VERY healthy. My cholesterol is the lowest possible, and I am not a vegetarian.
I just checked (www.nutritiondata.com) and it seems pumkin seeds have the highest uantity and quality of protein (full spectrum of essential aminoacids). So I wil increase their ratio.
