I plan on bulking this summer for the next rugby season. I’m in school too and I find it much harder to gain weight there as well. Drinking 2-3 nights a week really halts progress and not having my own kitchen for my freshman or sophomore year sucked. I am always at 7-9% bodyfat and am very fast no matter what my diet or cardio schedule is, so I’m going to try eating stupid amounts of food + omnibus to get my ass to 175, (small goal I know but I’m an ectomorph sorry kids).

I’m not really concerned with being lean because I’ve been lean my entire life and there no point in being lean if I only weigh 160.

Good luck with your goals.

Who do you play for, and what position?

I play for Fairfield Univeristy in CT, I’m a wing/outside center. I had a track scholarship to Fordham but I turned it down because Fairfield gave me more money to do nothing. So I picked up rugby and am completely addicted to it. My speed has a good carry over and I’m already a very good tackler thanks to my football background, I just need to gain a little extra padding.

What about yourself?

I play hooker at Rutgers.

Very nice, we played you guys twice my freshman year. You beat us both times and were the only team to do so. You guys are a solid team, and we saw you again at West Point this past fall/winter. Good luck in your fall season, I’m the match secretary so maybe we’ll schedule a spring match in upcoming seasons.

Nice, I was a freshman this year and only started playing in the spring, so I didn’t get to play you.

We have a tough schedule this fall against teams like Kutztown and Penn State.

I’ll be bulking through the summer too (hopefully).

I’m doing a semester long program (May-August) that will have me in England living at a res and eating at a meal hall for six weeks, which may make it difficult to continue to bulk cleanly, but I’m sure there are guys/girls who go through a whole degree program living in residence and eating at meal halls who still make good gains, so I’m going to do my best.

I’m sitting at 200lbs now, and I’d like to be 210 by the end of summer. Then maybe 245 by next summer and I’ll think about doing a cut ;).
