I plan on bulking this summer for the next rugby season. I’m in school too and I find it much harder to gain weight there as well. Drinking 2-3 nights a week really halts progress and not having my own kitchen for my freshman or sophomore year sucked. I am always at 7-9% bodyfat and am very fast no matter what my diet or cardio schedule is, so I’m going to try eating stupid amounts of food + omnibus to get my ass to 175, (small goal I know but I’m an ectomorph sorry kids).
I’m not really concerned with being lean because I’ve been lean my entire life and there no point in being lean if I only weigh 160.
Planning on bulking as well. Lol there’s nothing else for me left. I’m only gonna be 171lbs on friday. And I’m 6’1". So yeah, I don’t give a shit if I have visible abs or w/e. Time to take this adding mass shit seriously

Good luck with your goals.
Who do you play for, and what position?

I play for Fairfield Univeristy in CT, I’m a wing/outside center. I had a track scholarship to Fordham but I turned it down because Fairfield gave me more money to do nothing. So I picked up rugby and am completely addicted to it. My speed has a good carry over and I’m already a very good tackler thanks to my football background, I just need to gain a little extra padding.

One of my best friends goes to Fairfield and is on the lacrosse team. It’s a very nice campus, as I went up there a few months ago and partied my ass off. The fact that it is pretty small may even meen you know my friend, his name is Michael Esposito, he’s a small little fucker but probably one of the biggest party animals around lol.
Count me in fellas for a nice long bulk through the summers of the next 6 or so years to come. Not saying I won’t lean down a bit here and there though.
I had to give up training for a month because of me final exams,my parents didn’t let me go to the gym no matter what i did i or said.I had to cut calories etc Im ive lost some fat but very little muscle…I CANT WAIT TO START BULKING …

My goal is to be 230-235 lbs by end of summer.
I was 185 last summer so I’m definitely a lot fuller this year…
I’ll probably keep bulking and not worry about cutting until next spring.
that would be an impressive gain.
what kind of strength increases have you had and are you hoping for by the end of summer since you were 185?
[/quote]
I’m 220 lbs. now so another 15 lbs. shouldn’t be too bad. By no means will it be easy but I think I have the gaining weight/strength down pretty good. I log my lifts so my goal for every session is to beat last weeks lifts.
As far as improvements, looking back to last summer I was weak as shit. This site really helped me…incorporating deadlifts helped a lot too. I was really skinny weighing at 185 at 6’1, good for a college point guard cuz I was quick. Since graduating my only goal is to get as big as possible. Even at 220 I still feel skinny. I got pics in my profile at 215 lbs, i’ll have to throw up last years pics, pretty funny.
I’ll definitely be sporting the bulk belly on the beaches this year, i’m not really worried about it though. Like I said, I want to see how big I can get. Currently eating about 4300 calories a day.
I’ve been gaining since last year. Up 50lb and 2 inches on the arms. Right now i’m about 250 and a good amount of excess weight, but I don’t really care. I start my new job in September and I have to move about 2 hours west for 2 months before coming back. Right now, I figure i’ll try to get the weight up as high as possible then maintain for a while before an attempted cut.
I’m looking to get to about 245-250 this summer. Currently sitting at around 220 on my heavy days, so this should be fun. I powerlift though, so I don’t need to be as concerned about my bodyfat % as you BBers do.
Im reluctantly decided to start a diet similar to the V-Diet at the moment. Im hoping to get to the low teens in BF so that I can do a long drawn out bulk, or a series of smaller bulks throughout the summer, winter and into the spring. Current weight WAS 193, i’ll be <185 at the end of this diet, and then plan to bulk all summer to 200+. Long term, i’d like to be 215-225 and 10-12%BF. Height is 5’11"
***Summer bulking is tough. Summer heat + tons of calories = mucho sweat.
I’d love to eat for muscle gain, consciously. I’ve been lifting weights for years without knowing a damn thing about nutrition, unfortunately, and much of that hard work has gone for naught. Being a fat guy your whole life kind of gives you tunnel vision…since I’m now the leanest I’ve been in 10-12 years I’d love to work my f*cking ass off in the gym and gain some mass.
I’ve been dieting for nearly 14 weeks (again consciously this time) with a purpose. I know I don’t come close to some of the physiques and lifts of the members here but I truly love pushing myself and I’d like to know just what I’m capable of. After my Vegas trip July 9-12 for my buddy’s bachelor party I plan on cruising through the rest of the summer (eat at maintenance…yeah you don’t hear that much lol) and then really making my first attempt at building some mass starting once the rain returns to Seattle. Should be a fun experiment.
Summer bulking can be tough (agreeing with dankid),… my issue in the past has been no real desire to eat so much on especially hot and humid days. Those are usually the days when my simply little protein shakes made in a shaker cup actually get tossed in a blender with a ton of ice and whatever else I can find laying around.
This summer, although I’m still regaining muscle after my contest, I’m hoping to make some solid gains, albeit not allowing myself to get out of control. As you should do, when I initially went from 150 to 220 (over years I should point out), I didn’t worry abut losing my abs. This time, I’m planning on staying under 10% for 2 reasons. 1- I like being lean in the summer months, going to the beach, hanging in my bro’s pool etc. 2- As ‘Chi’ mentioned earlier in this thread, knowing that I’ll be dieting down for another show early next year, who the hell wants to lose 35 lbs in a few months? -lol

Very nice, we played you guys twice my freshman year. You beat us both times and were the only team to do so. You guys are a solid team, and we saw you again at West Point this past fall/winter. Good luck in your fall season, I’m the match secretary so maybe we’ll schedule a spring match in upcoming seasons.
