How is this untrue ?
this is actually VERY true.
I thought pro’s did like they do in the videos. Go nuts and kill shit. Chain dips around the neck, 200 lb. DB presses, 600 lb. squats.
Then i worked out with a few. They are really methodical and calculated in their training.
The ONLY exception is legs, i watched a few pro’s kill legs.
Most guys are very content on using as little weight as they can get away with, with strict form, and not much fuss. Smart when you think about it.[/quote]
I hate to say this but your an idiot,Mark Dugdale and two other BBrs lift at my gym and they fucking kill it.BBrs lift light weeks out of a show to get cut and bring out muscularity all other times they lift heavy as shit.No one has ever gotten big by not lifting heavy,You have to get a massive block of marble and cut it down to perfection.

That guy looks weird. It’s like he has a slight reverse v-taper, he gets narrower at his shoulders…might be the camera angle combined with a lack of muscle
this isnt really a quote but i hate it when guys think they r huge when they arent. like a friend of mine is always talkin about how muscular he is and how girls notice his pecks and arms and stuff… haha…
I just wanna be like dude, most women i know have more muscle than u… but i dont wanna discourage the guy… its just funny cuz hes so cocky about it…

sometimes you gotta give em a peck every once in a while to let em know whats what.
When I weighed around 130lb, I was told by a medical student that he had it on authority that I’d never get bigger; the words were very close to “There’s no point in you going to the gym, as your body will never change.”
I naively believed him for a few months and didn’t get my gym membership. After doing my own research (yes, he lost me months) I got into the gym and am currently at 147, and feel I can add a lot more over the next few years.
Also, the following comments are truth:
A female friend once said - “dude, you can’t take that stuff” when she saw my protein shake. And another one expressely stated that I was only putting on weight thanks to drinking that stuff. She refused to even sip it, thinking it’d alter her body. This actually happened.

I started lifting weights at 130lbs and obviously super skinny.
Every 10lbs I gained, I had everyone around me - friends, family, teachers - tell me I couldn’t gain anymore. I’d gained all I could gain now that I’m 140lbs, oh I’ve hit my natural peak at 150lbs, well now I’ve really done all I can do at 160lbs… your metabolism won’t let you get over 170lbs why bother…
Aren’t you big enough!?!? Which is ludicrous to me, because I look in the mirror and I still see a skinny little kid.
I now weigh 205lbs, and when I tell the same people that I’m going to weigh 220lbs 6 months from now, they stare at me like I just told them I’m gonna go shit on their face.
That kind of shit never ends, and although it is dumb and annoying, it is a thing of beauty to prove someone wrong and see them eat their words.

Absolute classic
‘‘Protein powders seriosuly fuck up your heart and kidneys’’-From a guy in my Gym Instructors course at college, sadly…
And how can we forget the ever present-'‘kids(i.e under 16 year olds) shouldn’t do weights ‘cos it stunts their growth.’’
Most people around where I grew up actually believe this
My friends were talking about some guy who bulked up a bit over the summer-
‘’… yeah he put on a bit of muscle alright. But he got a bit tubby as well’’
‘‘That’s all the protein shakes he was taking’’
Of course any attempts to tell them that a caloric surplus is what really puts on weight and that is what’s likely to have caused any fat to appear were met with laughs and the general opinion that I don’t know what I’m on about.
‘‘I’ve tried millions of different workouts and programmes, I’m just not built to carry muscle’’(he was 100% serious. And a lazy pr*ck to along with it.)

HAHA thats so true about females that dont work out or are not familiar with fitness etc. I had a friend of mine who is a girl over the other night and was makin a shake and she was like what does that stuff taste like and i was like well have a sip… she looked horrified to take a sip as if she was doing somehting illegal or it was gonna at like 20lbs to her waist or somethin… haha
Oh, how can I forget the latest load of crap that’s made it’s way into MY house…
Sister: Stop buying whole milk
Me: What…? Why?
Sister: It’s really bad for you, and mam wants us to switch to low-fat milk
Me: It’s bad for you? Says who…?
Sister: All the dieticians and doctors are saying it(*My sister is a nurse).
Me: Sighs’s in despair
I’m about to start Rippetoe’s SS in a few days and fully intend to be downing the gallon of whole milk a day. Jeez I actually can’t wait to see what pearls of wisdom they give me about that

Got the same crap from my mom when she visited me the other week.
I had someone tell me I’ll never ever get over 200 (well on my way). Fuck that I will make it past 200 and then some.
People have told me eating lbs of animal protein a day will kill me and eating more than 8 eggs a day would fuck up my cholestrol. I always get my bloodwork done every year as requirement to get a cheaper insurance premium. Everything comes back optimal even above average, doc says keep it up.
People say shit about my training and how I eat. I just tell them this is an investment in me. You invest in your ciggarettes and weekend drinking binges all you want and see where that gets you.
