In Canberra not many injury’s are reported as a result of fireworks. Its more the drunken tomfoolery of people that have never has access to them that causes problems.
Letterboxes being blown up + animals spooked + nanny state types thinking they know what’s best for everyone + woefully inadequate police force. Banning them is just the easy (read cheap) way out for the politicians.
After a few massacres most notably Port Arthur we banned semi and automatic rifles and hand guns. Most if not all rural types have a rifle. I went out pig hunting with my cousins in cairns, they just use dogs and a big fuck off knife instead.
Do Australians make fun of American accents like we make fun of yours?

Nothing like a Dogs eye (meat pie) and some Dead horse (tomato sauce aka. ketchup?). Stuff the mass produced offal laden crap and find a good bakery and you’re golden.

Yes, very much so. I’m firmly of the belief that we have the best accent in the English-speaking world.

??? why would need a gun? This isnt a country where we blast each other on every street corner.
Sure people have guns in some badass suburbs like redfurn and macquarie fields but the majority of guns here are for the farmers who go pig shootin on a saturday night ![]()
Very strict gun laws here.

Yeah people here do make fun of u guys. We are a pretty quiet country.Everytime u hear some annoying person with a really loud voice making sure everyone is looking at him its always a loudmouth yank as we call u guys over here.
Its just some subtle differences that make me laugh.
Why do u say PET when u actually PAT a dog for example.
U say roof funny, sounds like u are saying ruuf.
Love how u guys say the word Coffee
Also makes me laugh when u say u root for a team.Root over here means to fuck ![]()

When I meet a Canadian I enjoy pretending to think they are from the US.
Something like “I just want to let you know that I completely support what your president George Bush is doing in Iraq”.

I did that once. Same words and all.
Man, that didn’t go down well.

Women? I was talking about the bird.
If we’re comparing women, ours have the most experience in bed. Whether or not that is a good thing is up to you.
But it depends on how u mean “popular”
Player paticipation = Soccer by far
Tv ratings and attendance = AFL by a long way
It’s kind of hard to compare the popularity of sports but I think you’re right with those figures.
Your comments on modern rugby were interesting, I thought it was totally the opposite - today’s game is much faster and more free-flowing unless you’re watching England play.

Kiwi’s form the backbone of our public transport system. They use a ton of gas though.
we pretty much take the piss out of any accent, the biggest problem in Australia is there is an unacceptable amount of people from middle eastern and Asian descent that are not willing to assimilate into Australian culture and force there way of life onto Australian culture. Making life for other Australians a lot more difficult, this includes not wanting to learn english, too be honest if people don’t at least want to learn English they shouldn’t be allowed in the country. We need a stronger policy when it comes to people migrating here. Might come across as racist or insensitive, I know longer give a flying fuck living in a suburb that has a large Asian community, those who refuse to learn the language make my life and the people around me life harder.
I’m done ranting
