She’s a flake, if you ask me. Oh, I believe this was supposed to be part of some anti-racist video. So, I’m not questioning her anti-racism. But, like a lot of activist types, they go kooky. They want to grab attention with edgy displays. Be it laying out on campus painted up as civilain war casualties, putting up posters of random male classmates labeled ‘rapist,’ or taping a video of students in KKK garb…Kooky.
Why the fuck can’t teachers just teach the material anymore? Everything has to be some big production. That lady’s a fucking high school teacher, not Francis Ford Coppola. Sorry her job is boring.
This is right up there with those two teachers who threw holy water on another teacher because she was an atheist. No wonder kids today are out of control.
I wonder though, if her doing this doesn’t take away some of the awfulness of what the KKK stands for. Hasn’t she just made it a fun event? I wonder now if the kids don’t understand the hate behind the KKK. I don’t know if that would be good or bad.

I agree. My little bro is in hs and they do “simulations” in history class. It just seems like such a huge waste of time.
Truth be known, I’ve dressed like Louis XIV, Napoleon, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, etc. in class. I had enough sense to never dress like Adolf Hitler. Lots of kids learn better by seeing things than by reading a book or listening to lecture. You just have to use some common sense. Having kids re-enact the Battle of Gettysburg is one thing but having them re-enact a Klan rally or cross burning is completely different. Figures it was in Georgia.
lol. god bless america, land that i love.
I always had the notion that teachers were supposed to be intelligent. But it appears as though that is not a prerequisite to teaching.

Aaargh the kids are out of control! Illegal immigrants are taking over the country and committing vehicular homicide with reckless abandon!
Cheer up OG. Everything will be alright.

I think re-enacting a Klan rally is a good idea, but the teacher better have tenure and signed permission slips from all the parents.
It’s a part of our past. It need to be exposed to the light of day.
They should re-enact the refounding of the Klan on Stone Mountain, GA and have the kids recite the oaths there by the Founding Council, not just some random cross burning. Go back to the founding.

Interesting. Of all the folks that have posted in this thread and other threads I was the one you thought to remark to and tell me everything will be alright.
Thank you
You’re better looking than the rest.

Hopefully they will conduct a drive-by presentation to balance it out.
“WTF IS THAT YOU’RE WEARING?”
“THATS MY BRAND MY HOMEY. -KLAN-”

The fact that you are a teacher is truly frightening. Any other great ideas?
to Sloth, HG and to anyone else who has a problem with the teacher, ask yourselves this question. How many students will remember the lessons they were taught during the display in a year, or even in a decade?
Compare the number of students who learn the traditional method of memorizing a load of needless dates versus the kids from her class and the LESSONS (and notice the plural) they were taught in the experiment. How is a teacher taking a pro active role in teaching a bad thing? Sure she could have done a better job, yet I commend her trying to TEACH. In a few years the method will be a lot better/smoother and cause less drama. If people have a problem with her methods, move your child to a different school or even better, home school your own kids. Until you can do a better job yourself, people need to stop wasting the oxygen of talking. Again, just IMHO ; )
Dumbass woman. Let’s hang a black manikin from a noose and beat it with a stick while shouting “WHITE POWER”, you know to teach the kids how things used to be.
Big fucking deal.
