Strut Yo' Stuff

Jeff

If you can, or if you haven’t already I’d cut the water out and wouldn’t touch it at all.

The morning of your pictures, still refrain from drinking anything. Have a good meal – steak, pancakes, donuts, eggs, McDonald’s, Snicker’s bars, whatever. You should fill out a bit right there and then take your pictures about 3hrs later or so. If you’re going to ‘pump up’ for them, have a tablspoon of fruit jam every 30 minutes starting 90 minutes away.

Clearly not ideal, but nevertheless better than nothing perhaps.

Thunder, while I can’t argue the fact that there have been a meager range of individuals posting on this thread, I will state that this is very valuable information that I plan to put to use on both myself and my (potential) array of clientele in the future. So, it’s all good, bro! Your hard work and time have certainly not gone to the wayside.

That being said, Thunder, I cannot thank you enough for sharing all this state-of-the-art information. Never have I seen such a pre-shoot/competition protocol so intense and variable. I certainly see the potency of it.

Thanks again, Thunder!

Thanks, Thunder. I’ll have to remember this thread the next time I want to “peak.”

I was basically going to do nothing special, other than make Fri a “refeed” day, which is part of my normal pan, amyway. I’ll see if I can go w/o fluids.

BTW, ever seen a 125 lbs. freaky, ripped guy? My pics will be posted next week!

J-Bird, that’s a really good question, and I think that I hit on it slightly earlier.

I would imagine that it would be very difficult to maintain the full and dry look over an extended period of time (i.e. days). The fullness, as I mentioned earlier, could stick around up to three days.

But, as your body starts sensing the shift in water and sodium, you’re going to crank up those hormones that are involved in the retention of both. So, it’s basically a matter of time.

That said, however, J-Bird, with your outstanding condition, I would suggest that this wouldn’t be such an issue where you’d look like crap or anything in the day or two after your shoot, provided you started to make proper nutritional adjustments.

Thunder, I second the statement made by Timbo, although many might not be chiming in, do not think that there arent those who are not reading, taking notes, and planning on applying this valuable info. Your insight is greatly appreciated bro.
Timbo, This would be the case shall I ever do the shoot for the weasles, I would do two to three days of shooting and maybe more. When the time comes we will crank it up, for all I can do is wait…thanks again bro for the help.

Would either of the Terrible 'T’s care to take a stab at my previous scenario/question?

C’mon, y’all… hook a 'pounder up!

I am too reading and taking notes, this is a very valuable info, much appreciated.

I’ve been pokin’ my head in daily to read the info. This really helps bring back my memory. Great ino, but like Ryan found out, everyone will react differently, thats why logging it will help fine tune for next time.

My tip is if you are already in great shape, take advantage and repeat the the deplete and carb-up at least one more time w/ minor changes to dail - it -in. It will help for next time. Make sure the changes are small, because thats usually all that is needed.

Morning of the show/pictures:

When you wake up this day, you should be full and dry. Maybe not quite as full as 2 hrs after the big meal the evening before, but still full.

The variable here is water and again, you have to know what to look for. Some need to drink A LITTLE, others don’t and shouldn’t.

Assuming, a 11 am prejudging/photo shoot, the first meal should come around 6 am. The fat loading continues with any carb sources that are dry (nothing with high water content). Examples might be donuts, dry cake, cheesecake, peanut butter on rice cakes, eggs, steak, Snicker?s bars, Reese’s Peanut Butter cups, Pancakes with syrup, breakfast at McDonald’s. You get the idea. It should be fats and sugars together.

At about 9 am, you can repeat the first meal on a smaller scale (you don?t want to get bloated) or you can have something like beef and yams, or chicken, yams and cashews, etc. You should have some quick stuff with you however.

Starting 90 minutes before you’d pump up, and every 30 minutes have a couple spoonfuls of jam. If you’re going to have a carb drink of sorts (or dextrose, whatever) do so in a SMALL amount of water and add a bit of salt to it. Other things to have available are things like honey.

Pump up and get nice and vascular…

Oooh… “The Day Of”!

Many thanks for your openness and information, Thunder. This is truly an excellent thread.

Yummmm! Breakfast at McDonald’s and pancakes w/ syrup. This will be fun!

Looks great, Thunder!

Ike, I would say that you pretty much have two options here:

  1. Follow Thunder’s guidelines to a T, or

  2. Follow the Classical Method of Carbohydrate Loading.

How does burgers, fries, and ice cream sound for the feast on Day 2 after cutting out water? Would that work Thunder? I know I could put away a lot of those foods. Easily.

Thunder:

I’ve been here. Great info! Thanks so much to you and Timbo.

Indeed, I no longer feel so guilty about my annual Myrtle-Beach-Krispy-Kreme-Eat-Till-You-Die binge. I’m just loadin’ baby!

Thunder & Timbo, well I got the call, and my date is set, I will be flying to LA, on the 10th of June, and will be shooting on the 11th and the 12th. I dont really know how I should approach these next 13 days, any advice is greatly appreciated. I am currently following a nutritional plan of 3 p-c meals, and 3 p-f meals on training days, and on non training days, I go 2 p-c meals, and 4 p-f meals. This is working very well for me, as I am in great shape, I have to admit I have been giving myself some extras i.e. cashew butter, and egg whites, but they dont have any adverse affect on me, I am currently 170lb, and would estimate between 5-7% Bf, any suggestions are really helpful on how I should approach this, of course I am going to go back over this entire thread.

Thunder & Timbo,
Just wanted to let you guys know that there are some of us paying attention to this thread though not posting, just soaking up the information. A great deal of thanks to you guys, as I plan to use this info for the contest in July.

Thunder, after I digest all this a little more, I’ll probably have some questions for you. Already, I’m interested in what you have to say about “preparing for the week before the contest/pics”. You mentioned this a couple of times, and I’m interested if there are some general guidelines you would give nutrition-wise for say, 2 weeks prior, etc. Or is this a “case by case” sort of thing?

Thanks again for the info!!

Just a quick in-n-out. Thanks much Thunder & Timbo. I was lurking so as not to take up more space on this thread. Again this info is much appreciated!!

Okay I did a one over of the thread, and visualized myslef doing exactly as shown. I know that this is a template, and I will be gaguing myslef accordingly. I have been training hard, and am close to the 10 day out mark, and would love to post the progress on this thread. I am going to be using the herbal diuretic taraxatone, and was wondering if I should beging using it before the ten day mark? This plan looks awesome, and I cant exp0lain the excitement, along with the nervousness I am experiencing. I look forward to hearing from both of you guys Timbo, and Thunder, and I would love and greatley appreciate the help either of you could offer. I guess that is it for now, thank you very much gentleman

J-Bird, Thunder made the recommendation earlier that an OTC diuretic (i.e. Taraxatone) be started about 6 days before the shoot. In your case, since the 11th (i.e. Wednesday) is the first day of the shoot, you’d be advised to start taking it (along with keeping your water very high) on Friday the 6th.

Also, J-Bird, this thread is really starting to load up a bit slower. Perhaps you may consider starting your own thread in the very near future. I know that I am extremely confident in the bod that you’ll be showcasing, and I’d be more than happy to help walk you through it.

For all the others that have now chimed in with their many thanks, Thank you! Glad to have you around, and it’s great to hear that you’ll be utilizing this quality info.

If I can just comment on Ryan’s trial run and this is not meant to be taken in a negative way at all, so I hope it doesn’t come off that way.

Now, if could be the picture he posted, but in my opinion he isn’t lean enough to see maximum benefits from this and would have fared better with a slightly tamer approach.

I need to underscore the fact that you HAVE to be depleted and shredded.
