Strut Yo' Stuff

Bodz, my man, this is what it’s all about. Thunder’s been dropping most of the knowledge here, I’ve just been riding his coattails.

What really tickles me is when you guys show your appreciation and trust in guys like Thunder and myself. I mean, we’re not out to do anything but give the highest quality advice and information.

It’s great to see my peeps succeed. That’s what keeps me going. It’s hard damn work, man, and it’s a constant learning process. It’s really nice to see people taking this quality information, using it, and absorbing it.

Machine, that’s a good question. I’ll quote Thunder to help extrapolate the point I’m about to make:

Machine, my friend, you seem to be leary of the pizza and ranch dressing because of the high fat content. However, prime rib + french fries + cheesecake…my man, that’s fat, fat and more fat!

I’m sure Thunder has these meal choices for a certain reason, but I don’t think pizza w/ ranch would be too far off in fat intake. You might, however, need to add some ground beef, pepperoni, and sausage to it!

Excellent thread gentleman, I am very excited to hear more of what is to come. Also Ryan I am very interested to hear what comes from your following of this plan, I hope it turns out phenomenol. On a side note, as some may already know I myself am getting ready for a photo shoot, and am awaiting the date, you better believe I will be utilizing all of this info for it when the time comes. Also shall this shoot not even happen, I am so fascinated by the whole process, that I will probably end up doing the whole shibang anyway, if anything it is worth the experience, and its just en excuse for me to go and tear down a nasty meal:)

No pizza. Stick to the suggestions. For some reason, pizza has never worked out well.

Mind you, it’s up to you what you decide to eat, but I’m putting it on the record that I don’t suggest it.

J-Bird, I find it quite unfortunate that the company behind the potential shoot are leaving you hanging. Quite frankly, I find it to be bullshit.

That being said, now that the info is basically in its entirety, I think that it might not be such a bad idea, J, to test the waters. Thunder has great confidence in these methods–and I have great confidence in Thunder! That being the case, I think that you’re in phenomenal condition, Joey, and that trying this out to see how your body responds will only make it easier when the real time comes. Of course, with the date up in the air, it sounds like they might just call you today and tell you to come out tomorrow, which, again, is complete crap.

Thunder, what kind of guidelines might you suggest on the day of the competition/shoot? Minimal water? A meal similar to the feast the night before? A meal similar to the day before (i.e. chicken, cashews, yams, etc.)?

T-Rock, you know its all good baby, and it will take a lot more than a lazy company to get my feathers ruffled. I am sharing your snetiments regarding putting this info to use, and this is a VERY strong possibility, especially since I have a workout partner who would be willing to put himself to the same test. Keep it rolling guys.

I went thru with the plan. Almost to the T.

Day 1 i was right on. Day 2, i had a little less carbs. I ate till i was full.

I think the anything goes meal really hurt me.

I looked my best on the day 2 carb up.

I came out pretty cloudy today for the pictures, oh well, live and learn.

I have pictures from my first depletion day so you can see the diffrence after the carb up.

I’ll have them up as soon as i figure out how to do it.

Prime rib, french fries, and cheesecake are all foods I don’t like so it would be quite hard to feast on this and enjoy it. I’m craving a lot of bad foods I’ve never craved before because of this low-carbing for the last 10 days or so but the foods listed above are not them. Pizza, burgers, ice cream w/ angel food cake, these all sound good. I understand that my selection of foods might not be the best but can you provide any other alternate foods besides prime rib, french fries, and cheesecake?

Ryan

You didnt have any info on what to do the morning of the pictures yet…

Thunder, Timbo:

I know things are getting a bit late, but I have to ask. My question is basically like Char’s, but just at a different bodyfat percentage. So, in a nutshell:

How would you modify the macronutrient recommendation for someone sitting around 7.5-8%? This person, namely me, is going to be depleted to the bone. Any other modifications? Do all “Insanity Meals” stay, or should one or two be cut out?

You don’t need to go tailoring me any uber-specifics, just eyeball some suggestions and toss me a bone.

Do I even need to mention how much I appreciate your help?

thunder,

I know i didn’t, but i had to take my pictures today.

Although i don’t even think im going to use them.

Might just use my pictures from depletion day(sunday).

Machine, although I will not claim to be the most experienced in this area, I would think that something along the lines of Pancakes, some sausage, and eggs would fall along these same guidelines. I saw a guy eat this before a show, and he looked phenomenol. This same guy ate some McD’s before the night show, and came out just as crisp.
Thunder or Timbo, at what point would one start to retain water from all of this high carbing and what not? The reason I wonder this, is say someone will be shooting for more than one day, then I imagine the approach would have to change a bit, not to get you sidetracked, but when either of you get a chance could you adress this issue?

Ryan,

The ‘anything goes’ meal did not hurt you. One meal in a total of 15-20, even if it’s over the top cannot have that affect. If anything, it would be the cumulative effect.

When you say you had a ‘little less carbs’ on Day 2, what exactly do you mean? A little less than Day 1? Or half of Day 1?

Being cloudy on the third day is an issue of water and/or sodium.

This is an example of where tweaking things is so important. As I said in the beginning, this is the template that I work off. From there, modifications are needed to customize it to the individual and in many cases this takes a very good/experienced eye. Basically, you have to know what you’re looking for over the course of the 3 days. Being able to recognize certain ‘looks’ throughout the process is so important. Obviously, when someone is running through this process for the first time (and more importantly on their own), difficulties in fine-tuning can arise.

There are so many little variables that can affect things. Many of which can stem from what one has being doing leading up to the final week. Preparing for the final week is arguably just as important as the final week itself, since not preparing for it can have significant effects on the outcome of all the manipulations.

Truth be told, when done correctly, I have yet to see it fail.

This is basically what I’ve come up with after 3 years (in the 4th) of working with competitors. There has been a lot of trial and error ? things like timing of water, foods, sodium, all the numbers; they?ve all been played with.

I would love to see how different the outcome would be had I been able to walk you through it.

Am I supposed to account for the feast and the meals thereafter on the night before the shoot for the kcal/carb/protein/fat totals of Day 2?

Procrastinator Advice?

I just glanced at this thread before, didn’t read it carefully until tonight. So, if I’m having pics taken tomarrow, is there any last minute things I could do that would make a difference? I’ve been eating >30 gr. carbs/day, so I know I’ll be pretty flat and in need of some carbs.

Hopefully more people are at least reading this thread than are posting. Not a very wide range of posters…

Machine

No, you don’t count them. Count everything except that meal in your totals.

Jeff Rage

Did you cut your water? How far before your pictures did you do so, and how much water per day were you drinking up to today?

No, I didn’t cut water, nor do I know much I have been drinking.

I’m guessing that it’s completely too late and that I’ll have to use the ideas on this thread for next time? Or is there still something I can do?

Thunder:

Your right, there doesn’t seem to be many people here. Nevertheless, ome of us are awaiting the ‘Day-Of’ instructions with great anticipation!
