"Here is a sled for only $60(less than half of elitefts).
brute strength site
I don’t, however, know about the quality of the products they sell on this website. "
The equipment from brute strength is cheap, but poorly made. If you are looking for equipment that will last more than a couple training sessions, look elsewhere.
my sled cost me 4 dollars…get into the “cull” lumber pile at home depot - they sell the broken junk lumber for fifty cents…bang a box together and put an eye bolt through it…i hook up my dog leash to my weight belt and fill the sled with dirt and rocks and anything heavy…it’s only about 2’x3’x6" and i can get it so heavy i can barely pull it across the desert…

I don’t want to know how to build a wooden box-- if that’s what I was going to do, then I would have done it long ago. I also have no storage space for rocks if you read my previous posts on this thread.

RIT Jared,
Sometimes people don’t have the time to read the whole thread, but think that they may have some information to offer based on your first post (Note: you asked for an ALTERNATIVE to a dragging sled in the intial post).
If you really want an EliteFTS sled then crack open your piggy bank and buy one. It’d save you the trouble of slamming those who are trying to help you out.
I know you are getting 45 lb plates, but I still think a wheelbarrow tub would be just fine for a sled. You can still put the plates in the tub and drag it across pavement or grass.
If you have access to metal and welding supplies then you can go that route, too. Just make a base a square big enough for the entire plate to lie on. I don’t think you need any specific measurements. Just make it big enough that the plate itself doesn’t drag on the ground.
You could probably even call Elite’s customer service and ask the measurements to their sled.
I made my sled for about $15. First, find a friend who has some spare tires sitting around (it was easy for me, I live in WV), or go to a tire place and ask them if they need some tires hauled away, try to get regular car tires so you can stack 45lb plates in the middles. Then, go to Home Depot and get some chain, a lock, and a length of rope. Thread the chain through both holes in the tires and lock it a link from the end, then put the rope through those two free links. Vioala, instant chain. Then you can wear it like in my photos.
As for the flipping tire, again, go to a tire store, they gotta pay people to take em away, so they’ll be more than happy to give on to you.
For a keg, I went to a liqor store and bought it for $10, go around till you find a store that will sell it to you for $10, if they sell it for more than that they are making a profit, bleh.
