Strongest Man On Earth

Wondering if anyone else is watching this. Also wondering if maybe the events were too hard with how many there are. This may be the most brutal strength competition I have seen.

Didn’t catch the live stream but did follow the results. Seems like Thor did an awesome job with 5 event wins of out 8, which is pretty incredible for someone coming back from time away from the sport. Overall he placed second to the more consistent Mitch Hooper. Thor has a massive weakness with his overhead events right now and really needs time to get that sorted.

There were a few zero’s on the squat which is not uncommon. It’s impossible to train for this type of squat as people don’t have the same equipment. Maybe it was a little heavy but the winner got 10 reps so you wouldn’t want it much lighter.

Few people zero’d the max stone event mostly it seems because they went for a stone that was too heavy to start. Then once they had failed that a couple of times they had no energy left to do a lighter stone. I think Brian was trying to do something a little different here rather than the normal atlas stone run but it didn’t work out the way he probably expected.

It was a great competition. But i think Bryan nailed it. There were many people not able to finish events. And at least two events no one could finish. You have to be in incredible shape to withstand the cns of that competition. In-fucking-sane

So glad they have a ppv for it. Always aucks having to wait months for rogue and WSM

Where are you watching this?

It’s a PPV.

Here’s a behind the scenes look. There was a big controversy about the squat event; if you watch part 2, Hooper explains his perspective on said controversy.
