I lost 6 lbs since my last weigh-in at the hospital. Their scale is pretty different than my home scale. I weighed 165.5 on home scale nekkid when I woke up. I weighed 165.4 on their scale 3.5 hours later, after eating breakfast, putting on clothes, and drinking water.
They congratulated me on the weight loss, but they don’t like the food plan. They say that much protein will kill my kidneys.
A quote, “I was actually adding up the grams of protein in your current meal plan, just the chicken and whey protein is about ~133g protein, w/what is in the bread and small trace amounts in the other items at high end ~145g protein. I calculate your lean mass at 49kg which be 74-98g(1.5-2.0g/kg LBM) protein to maintain and build lean muscle. Keep in mind the more protein a person consumes the more free water they need to drink to help filter. I would recommend cutting back 1 scoop of Whey and redistribute these calories to maybe fruit/cottage cheese/yogurtâ?¦ Keep in mind when you start increasing carb containing foods and less protein you will retain some additional fluid for digestion which can cause a slight weight gain but not actual fat gain.”
A month ago in their office: 171.7 lbs, BMI 28.9, Body fat 35.1% Now is 165.4 lbs, BMI 27,8% Body fat 33.7%
Got some new protein powder today, from Costco. Gotta get the good stuff from my “friend,” who I did the art work for.
Thanks for the props, Nikki ! xoxo !! I’m not a big fan of buns. I like my buns better. Hee hee… just kidding. I like the bread that I buy, is what I mean to say.
Hungry - Hugs back! Life is a bit wacky sometimes, but we all just keep on keepin’ on. ;o) My neice-in-law just posted to her facebook page that she is 297 lbs, and “really need to get started on working on this.” Her wedding is next summer. Post after that was about making spaghetti & choc chip cookies. While I most definitely envy her cookies, she is welcome to try my bbq chicken & veggies.
Big grins! Whatcha think of the “Stop Eating Too Much Protein” advice from the nutritionist? ;o)[/quote]
Life IS wacky these days. I know:)
The nutitionist is semi correct. But, your protein consumption is actually on the low side if you’re working out 4-5 days a week, imo.
Hey, where you at?
