Strong 165ers

what kind of training do you guys do? being light must be harder for the joints and body.

I am also 21. How tall are you Efeguwewe? I am 5’3" and just about 11% body fat so I am trying to think what your body frame is for being 145. When I was deployed I was going 6 days on 1 day off. Chest/Back, Legs/Lower Back/ Shoulders, Arms/ Sprints. I did 5x5 for 6 weeks and my bench went up about 30 pounds, squat went up 80 pounds and deadlift went up 60. After that I switched to a 9, 7, 5, 3 pyramid doing one at the end depending on how I felt. I did that for another six weeks and my vids I posted are after this. I started the BBB program and I honestly hate it and think it is garbage. My bench has went down 10 pounds, my squat and deadlift are just about the same. I haven’t really put on any size either and I have finally been able to eat healthy since I am in Germany now. So maybe it works for other people but not me. Im debating on going back to 5x5 since I seen such good results from it.( with 5x5 I don’t mean staying with the same weight the whole time, peak at the 3rd set, I also would work in 3x8 with smaller body movements)

Andrew Hollenbeck. This is him at 181 but he normally lifts at 165. I saw him hit 565 DL raw at about 155lbs bodyweight a few weeks ago

Here’s me messing around yesterday after my upper bpd day. I’m 5’6 last Time i was measured a couple of years ago and I dont think I’ve gotten much taller.

I can usually hang off of the rim and do pullups but my knees were just aching yesterday after doing these

I compete at 74kg (162lbs). Heres some benching from yesterday with fat grips.

Nice bench man, you remind me of someone I used to train with. Where do you compete and what fed?

Thats pretty crazy man, great job. I’m too afraid for fear of my wrists benching with fat gripz. I have really boney/skinny wrists

Thats not paused, still an impressive lift tho nice work.

Clutz, anything you have found particular useful for increasing your bench? How long have you been lifting?

I’m 21 and played 4 years of college football. I quit this year to focus on powerlifting, so I’ve been specifically training for powerlifting since Novemeber. But I’ve been lifting since highschool, training properly probably the last 2-3 years or so. Specifically there isn’t one thing that has been the biggest contributor to my bench, but I’ve been following the westside approach outlined by STB in the westside method thread since the end of the football season and I’ve been smashing PR’s ever since. Theres no magical cure to getting stronger other than busting ass everytime your in the gym. Check out my log if you wanna see how I’ve setup up my training.
