Has anyone had any good calf size increases from using strength shoes or the like.
Just bump’in
Those only help your vert when you’re wearing them. Not sure about size increases though.
i own a pair and they give your calves a tight pump feel.ive used them mainly for sprints and they help increase speed a bit i think.important though make sure you buy the right size.get them a half size smaller than your regular shoes.also wear good socks because you can get blisters.when i first got them the blisters were so bad i couldnt even use the shoes for weeks till they healed.they are good for increasing vertical jump also.
also another thing they do is really stretch the achilies heel,so make sure you start slow with them to stretch the heel. i hurt mine with these shoes at first to the point i could barely walk for a couple weeks.start very slow!
Yes and No. I tried strenght shoe when they first came out. I was interested in calf size, but my many concern was imporving agility. Well, I gained about a 1/2 inch following their program (stopped doing calf work in the gym at the same time too avoid over training).
Before investing in strength shoes for calf size I would try Charles Poulquin’s Calf routine that is published on this website (gained a inch and 1/2 on that one). Remember to follow a gain weight program and specialize on the calves. I have found that I need to gain about 10lbs. to gain about 3/4 of an inch on my calves. Best of luck.
I had big time calf gains using those shoes. I would sprint, jump, quickness drills all the time in those shoes. They’re great.
First pair were made for Walter Payton back in 74’. He had big calfs & was super fast & could jump over a ton of people for touchdowns! You have to put the time in though. He trained very, very hard & smart too!
