i feel like speed and pec strength are key to strength off of the chest. i know people are going to argue that second point but i feel when my actual chest muscles are lagging im shitty off my chest. when iw ant to isolate my chest i do a lot of dumbell work; mostly flat bench and DB floor presses.

People aren’t seriously going to try and argue that pec strength is an important part of getting the bar off your chest are they??
I realize they probably will tho. Oh well…

i’m sure someone has read somewhere that the pecs have nothing to do with strength off the chest, therefore it’s true.

I bet Type2B has. ![]()
I never thought of pressing back to my sohudlers…I think i’ll definaetly try that…but make sure not back to the face right? is this because it will rotate the shoulders too much?

yes. the farther back the bar goes, the less control you have over it and the higher the risk for injury. pressing back over the shoulders allows you to bring the shoulders into the motion but still allows control over the bar.
i often see people pressing the bar into the rack when they finish their last rep. this can lead to injury. i always tell people to press to lockout over the shoulders and then let it drop back into the rack.
