On pressing movements (most notably flat and incline barbell bench) my right shoulder is around 5% weaker than my left. It becomes noticeable on difficult reps when my left arm reaches lockout comfortably and I have to really work the right arm and shoulder to get the weight locked out. This puts undue strain on my shoulder and has caused a serious of niggling and frustrating shoulder strains, I want to fix this before I get a serious injury.
There are two things which I am going to try to fix this, single limb work for the weak shoulder and limiting my loads and reps to the weakest shoulder’s capacity. Above and beyond this I am not too sure that there is anything else I can do? I would appreciate any thoughts or advice further to the couple of points above which may help me try to fix this problem?
How long have you been training? This is actually very common with newbies, it usually corrects itself after a while if you stick to compound movements. Make sure your grip is even and you centered on the bench, and your technique is solid.

Was this a joke? No I am not new to training this is a genuine issue for me.

Whoa, steady tiger; it was a fair question.
Has it got worse recently? If so perhaps you should get checked out by a Physical therapist or chiro: possibly a nerve entrapment?

Sounds resonable. 5% is nothing for a right-left difference in max strength at any level of performance. You don’t have a problem

if you feel it’s more serious go see a doctor, you see new people benching and one side is stronger almost all the time when they start off and 5% is generally not a lot. Its impossible for the internet to diagnose you, doctor will know much more.
