I think this is geared towards beginners to get the point across not to get into analysis paralysis but rather make sure you are hitting the gym efficiently. I also think the title is misleading. He seems more to be saying thats its not just protein, not just working out.
Its balance, working out hard, protein is good, but so are other nutrients. I think the point is lifting and you overall nutrient intake is equally important as just getting your adequate protein.
Misleading presentation, easy to be taken out of context. But the idea of balanced eating and hitting the gym hard are good points.

i still say nutrition is more important than training.
eat whole unprocessed foods high in nutrients the vast majority of the time, and exercise in moderation, would promote better health rather than exercising a ton and eating garbage.
