Jowee, did you get a gym lined up over there? You can go on a massive bulk comprised of fish and chips, battered sausage, curry, and lots of beer…
Well I have the gym on base I can lift at which has everything commercial gyms do. When we actually get over there I will start looking for an underground gym type place.
We will be leaving at a village that has some amazing restaurants. This one place is called Pudding Face which just makes tons of different kinds of pot pies. When we were there I got a beef and potatoes pot pie and it was amazing. I don’t think I’m going to have to try to bulk when over there, lol. I’ll just keep training hard and hope some of the weight I put on is muscle, lol.
overhead press’n- decided to do a cycle of swiss bar pressing for our main lift. i find these really hard to keep my balance during the lockout. the bar wants to wiggle around on me.
swiss bar overhead press
0x10
95x5
135x5
185x5
225x5
255x3
275x1
shoulder complex
standing dumbell press- lateral raises- rope rows- dumbell cleans
some x 10 x 2
conditioning work
prowler push- we started with the prowler and 50lbs. we pushed that to the end of the complex and back. then we added another 50lbs, down and back. then another 50lbs, down and back and then finished with 70lbs more down and back. the ol’ thighs were a burn’n.
heavy deadlift day- i’m an idiot. i went out last night with a bunch of my biker buddies. needless to say i stayed out way too late and had way too much fun. as a result, my session tonight was total crap. there wasn’t even a glimpse of awesomeness in this session. the only upside was that my conditioning is definitely getting much better. i’m now doing conditioning work after every session. before i was totally demolished the entire evening after conditioning. i’m recovering from it much quicker now.
reverse band deadlifts- sumo
445 x 4
535 x 4
625 x 4
715 x 2
785 x nada…zilch… damn beer. it’s like kryptonite to me.
conditioning work
medium tire flips (approx. 650lbs) and prowler push (140lbs of weight)
5 flips x 2 then right into prowler to the end of the complex x 2
finished with some gunz work. now that i’m riding my harley pretty much everywhere, i need to hit the ol’ gunz fo sho.
meh, I hit some of my best work after too much bourbon… wuss. j/k buddy, good effort, you can’t always be superman

i wasn’t even close to Jimmy Olsen today. maybe i should have hit up the bourbon last night…damn.
Meat, just checking in on you. Nice work on the conditioning progress. I’ve been working on that too (running) and it feels really good to have better endurance/recovery.
Meat-
Impressive as always.
What are you weighing in at these days?

I did sumo last night and worked up to 715 and it went up really easy. I tried 765 but couldn’t lock it out. Pretty positive it’s because I got pulled forward some while trying to pull 765 off the floor so I was hunched over some trying to lock it out. 715 went up fast and was easy to lock out because I sat back into it and was straight up when I went to lock it out. Either way, I was pleasantly surprised with how sumo felt and I think I could do pretty well with it if I stick to it and get better at staying upright while sitting back on the pull off the floor. I think with sumo I would need to learn to be more patient with the initial pull and just wait til it pops off the floor.
I’ve also been sick all week and wasn’t even going to lift last night but said screw it and went in anyway. Skipped the conditioning though. ![]()
I like how meat is hungover and does the conditioning
and Jowee skips out >_<
nice work in here people
awesome work meat…and the ehem medium 650lb tire flips…awesome. If your gonna hit da gunz…gotta wear sunglasses while doing em, it helps.
bench’n- i messed my knee up pull’n sumo the other day. i tweaked it and now it’s swollen. as a result i wasn’t able to get into any sort of arch today. everything was pretty much flat backed.
reverse band bench
225x10
315x10
405x10
495x2
545x1
585x1
645x1 + 10lb PR
titan close grip bench
225x6
315x6
365x6
tricep death- 1 board, 3 board, foam, 4 board
225x 10,10,10,6
circuit
dumbell flyes, various dumbell curls and rope pulls
some x some x 2
conditioning
medium tire flip and prowler push x 2
almost ran out of gas riding back from the gym. it sucks when you are passing a 18 wheeler at 80 mph and the bike just starts to slow down because you are out of “go juice”.

i’m actually getting addicted to it. i don’t feel like i’ve hit a decent training session without doing some. in the past i was doing one or two pretty long conditioning days but i started to dread them becuase they were so damn long. now we are adding it in after training. we are keeping them pretty brief and i actually look forward to them.
thanks for stopping in:)

glad to have you back hoss. why the layoff??
i’m weighing in the middle to high 240’s right now. hopefully all the conditioning work will get me down a little lower.
awesome to have you back.

Lol. Pfft, I wouldn’t consider his a hangover… I’ve trained through some pretty brutal hangovers at 9:00am from the night before.
Really though… I wish I had more time right now for conditioning stuff. I find it pretty fun. Our sessions are taking a while with 4-6 people and we are starting much later also. I just don’t have time right now… ![]()
