Still a Fat Man in a Little Coat

Lol. I meant it as a compliment. I mean, there is no denying that someone scotts size just does not look very flexible. Whereas I probably should be able to and can’t.

I don’t think I have monkey arms though, just cause I’m taller. You see some guys deadlifting and when they are locked out they are only half way up their thighs, lol. I’m almost hitting my nuts when I’m locked out. I think I’m pretty proportionate! lol.

Or maybe some guys have the same arm length as me, just a short torso.

Very different wrap style than used on my knees.

exact opposite of the way I wrap mine. doesn’t mean doesn’t work though

Thought I would mention that starting this weekend probably I’m going to go on a lower calorie diet for a month. As much as I don’t want to lose strength right now, and I’m hoping I don’t… but with my wedding and honeymoon coming up in a couple months I would really like to get in better shape. I’m feeling pretty plump right now and don’t really want to feel that way when we are celebrating our marriage.

I’m going to try the 28 day Velocity Diet… it’s kind of extreme but lots of people say it works, and it’s only one month. The thing I hate most about going on a super strict diet is having to carefully prepare a million meals a day. I really don’t know how people can eat like that year round and bodybuild, lol.

Anyway, feel free to flame me and/or give advice.

Joweeee…is this you?^^ I am staging an intervention

You’re young, you’ll survive anything.

If you were my age, and a friend of mine, and you told me you were starting on the Velocity Diet, I’d rip the protein canister right out of your hand, and hit you over the head with it until some sense seeped back into your head. Just sayin’.

bench night- working on our arch on the bench. we are arching over a small foam roller. damn it’s uncomfortable and shows just how small my arch is.

You might want to move your log over to the PW compound for the next month. You’ll fit right in!

Lol that was the most responses I’ve ever seen that fast.

I first thought PW meant pregnant women, then I looked to find Powerful Women, lol.

deads- i really hate pulling for reps because i suck at it. i guess that means i need to do more of it.

warmups

10x500 +95 lb PR?? lol.

Deficit Deadlifts 3" deficit
1x225
1x315
1x405
1x455

That’s it. Legs were still sore from squats and softball over the weekend. Groin was hurting after that high rep set, feels ok now at home though. Was going to pull 495 but it was just bothering me too much. 455 felt really easy though. I would like to work my way up to 600 with the deficits.

Most I’ve pulled for 10 was 405, but a few months back I did 475x7 so this is a pretty good improvement.

I think I only got 10 because scott and bill were pissing me off while I was pulling. Scott wanted me to do 525 but I thought it would be pretty heavy right after the meet, so I went conservative to start back. Scott just kept callin me out for going lighter and sandbagging, etc etc. I managed 10 reps but I know I’m gonna be hurtin tomorrow…

Nice work guys. Funny, just mapping my stuff out and I know I need to be doing some pulling for reps.

Meat & Joweeeeeeeeeeeeeee, sorry about being late to the party. Great meet. Strong lifting.
The new gym is paying dividends.

i’ve always sucked at reps on everything. i’m strong as a bull for one rep and then the strength drops off quickly.

it’s like my last bench session- i could only get 8 reps with 405 but if i had set up better with 495, i could have maybe gotten 3. once i hit the 4-5 rep mark i run out of steam.

Dude, you just need to put that shirt on. You know the one. Just do it. You would be competing at a very very high level very rapidly. Of course, you might need to recruit more training partners. For me, just do it for a cycle, pleeaaaaaaaaseeeeeee?

Lol. If he does he better try it before I leave in August. We would have to setup in the power rack or something so no one dies.

That’s exactly what I did before I was training with a full crew. Set the pins and the rack, have one lift off guy and one board guy. Still made me extra cautious when picking weights though.
